Another day has zoomed past. They are just whizzing by, I am so busy. I have been doing more painting. I got the door frame done and 1 side of the door. Just have the other side of the door to do now. We have decided to have textured wallpaper that we can paint. We had that in the old house and we quite like a bit of texture rather than plain flat walls. I guess it isn't the modern thing but hey it's our house!
Simon stopped off at B&Q on his way home and got some samples. 8 in all! We have discarded 2 already as one had flowers which I didn't want and the other had squares in a kind of grid pattern. I want something a little more random. We are not sure so tomorrow I am going to pin them all up around the living room walls and paint on the 2 colours we have chosen to see what they look like. I'll take photos to show you.
We had the fence done today. The guy rung last night to say he had a cancellation and so could make a start today. They have done three quarters of it and he is hoping to be able to come back on Thursday afternoon to get finished. I am so pleased with it, they have done a superb job and there is no way doggies can get through there. They had to move a panel at the end which Simon will have to trim as it is now too big but he can do that at the weekend. It is all safe and secure. I'll get some photos tomorrow.
While I was out there taking them out a cup of tea, Tony suddenly spotted the most enormous 3 legged fox. It was ambling alongside the trees and then turned and came along the back fences just about 8 feet away. I have never seen such a large fox. It was roughly the size of Alfie. I'll keep my eye out for it and try and get photos.
Talking of photos, I have something else that I must get shots of.......... The Morton Analemmatic sundial. Do you remember that I showed you a sign that I saw on the wall near the post office and how I had looked all around and could see nothing? Well I went to the post office this morning and as I was nearing the sign, I saw it. It is right there in the grass. I cannot believe that I didn't see it before. I'm convinced it wasn't there. Some one must have moved it and then put it back!
Oddly, despite many hours on the internet, I haven't found any reference to it so I still do not know why it was there. Still don't understand the reference to the Meridian either. I have however found out lots of stuff that I didn't know about sundials and have become quite fascinated by them. There are so many different kinds. Anyway, must get photos of the village one to show you.
OK, that's me finished for now. It's only 10.30pm but my bed is calling. I am very tired and my left knee is hurting and I'm cold. So jimmy jams, hot chocolate and my kindle are called for.
