A sort of continuation from Fridays mornings blog. First here are a couple of photos of the new hearth. It has to be grouted still. He is coming back to do that. We can't put anything on it for 48 hours as it has to “go off”. Funny expression that, “go off”. As you can see it is so shiny that you can see reflections in it from the window. It will look even better when we get the carpet done. I can't wait now.
Next is my bread. You'll never guess what I did? It requires 5g of yeast and I put in the whole packet which is 7g! Result it overflowed from the tin! See looks good now ….. then turn it round! It should still taste OK.
I mentioned owls and the sound they make Twit Twoo. I did look it up and this is what I found: A Tawny Owl never calls "twit twoo". In fact the "twit" or more accurately "ke-wick" is a Tawny Owl's contact call and the "twoo" or again more accurately "hoo-hoo-oooo" is the male's territorial call. Consequently, if you hear "ke-wick hoo-hoo-oooo" it is most likely a male answering a female (or another male).
Actually Sue has since told me that this isn't correct so I am still confused!
Simon went to the doctors On Friday before school for his vitamin B injection. Seems he now needs another lot of blood tests. Some of you have asked after him recently and some of you think it is vitamin D shots that he has but it is in fact vitamin B. He has pernicious myeloblastic anaemia. He was also diagnosed a few months back with an under active thyroid, I think I mentioned that? Well he had blood tests done just before Christmas and that problem is worse so they have doubled his medication. Not sure why they want my blood tests again.
Last but not least, some lovely news for us. Do you remember Raz who lived with us for quite some years? I told you a while back that he and his partner Tanya were expecting a baby. Well baby Zain Thomas finally arrived at 9am on Friday morning. Only 9 days late! He was 7lb 7oz and is just gorgeous. Mum, Dad and baby are all doing well. We can't wait to see him.
OK, that's me out of here now. We have another busy day ahead so I may or not be here later. Have a good one.
