My day is getting better and better. I have had a wonderful surprise. Not long after the man fitting the hearth had left there was a knock on the door. I wasn't expecting anyone and it is the first time anyone at all has knocked at the door apart from family. It was the postman and he had a box. I assumed it was probably something that Simon had ordered as he often orders bits for his car.
Imagine then my surprise when I saw it was for me. ME! From Merika!!!!! I opened it up to find the nicest present ever from my friend Dixie. It is the most beautiful crocheted throw in absolutely gorgeous colours.
Dixie, I can't thank you enough. I burst into tears! The thought of you sitting there hour after hour with the dreadful pains that you get doing this for me......... us, I may share it with Simon! I am so touched that you would do that. It is absolutely beautiful and I love it and will cherish it. THANK YOU.
Hopefully this will be the year that you finally make it over here to stay with us and you will be able to see it in use.

Now this is how to do crochet. Look at how beautiful those stitches are. Perfectly neat and even. I really wish I could do this. I have a very long way to go.
