It's Monday which means it is “Make do and Mend” time or in other words "Show and Tell"! I haven't done one of these blogs since before we moved. I have had limited time recently as I have been busy with the living room decorating.
I did get some time last week though and I have been working on 4 small, square, appliqué panels depicting the 4 seasons. I got the idea from Coralie. When they are completed they will be joined together and made into a small quilted wall hanging. Coralie is making hers into a baby quilt.
This is summer which is completed apart from 2 birds in the sky..
This is autumn which still needs a tree and leaves and a spade with a robin and rain!
This is winter which also needs a tree and a face and scarf for the snowman.
Finally, this is spring which needs a fence and some beads on the tree or maybe French knots. I'm not sure yet.
I have been doing lots of cutting out to make more of the brooches that I made at Christmas. This one is finished.
I have made 2 male birthday cards. My Birthday cards are not professional like the ones that some of you make but they are made with love and they do save money!!
Finally, I made this craft / gardening apron. I saw the idea somewhere on the internet and copied it. It has 6 pockets of varying sizes. It cost nothing as it is made form old jeans and scrap fabric. I am pleased with how it turned out and will use it as a present.
My next big project is to be making curtains for the living room but I can't do that until the new sofa's arrive because I want to get a good colour match. I have been gathering some fabric samples. It will be a few weeks yet.
I am also going to be making a quilted throw for Saskia but I have to search out the right coloured fabrics. She wants burnt orange and burgundy!
I also want to begin on a tunic top that will make a present for someone.
I am still practising the crochet.
So much to do and so little time to do it all in! I need 48 hour days!
