It snows here in the Lincolnshire Fens. I suppose that I shouldn't really be surprised as even our little Bretton micro climate that never gets snow, has got snow the last couple of years. The surprise was that we weren't expecting it. I don't think it was predicted for here. We woke up to about an inch and there have been small flakes falling for the last hour or so. I doubt that it will get worse although it may hang around for a day or two as it is minus 2 out there so very cold.
I hope it doesn't get worse as we have been told that it can be pretty rough out here, pretty bleak. On the other hand if we got loads then Simon wouldn't be able to get into school and he could get on with some jobs!
I am going to go out in it very shortly when I have drunk my coffee. I need to walk up to the post office as I sold some post cards on Ebay and I want to get them posted straight away. I also need eggs and milk. I can't believe we have run out of eggs. I NEVER run out of eggs. I don't like this lark of getting my own breakfast. I had a slice of bread with marmite since there were no eggs. It is not a proper breakfast.
When I get back I shall do a bit of sewing while I wait for a delivery man to bring my paint. I have had an email from them to say it will be delivered between 11.33am and 12.33. Very precise! Do you think I will have grounds for complaint if he comes at 12.34?
As soon as it arrives I shall bash on with painting those walls. I so want to get them done so that I can get straight. Oh and the carpet is being fitted next Thursday so we need to get all the painting out of the way before then. If I work hard I can hopefully get it done before Sunday. My sister and her husband are bringing my Dad up on Sunday. My Dad hasn't been here yet and he is looking forward to seeing the new house. I am looking forward to seeing him too as I haven't seen him since before Christmas.
Haven't seen my Mum either which I feel guilty about but it is difficult here without a car. Simon is trying to arrange a lift with someone else so that I can have the car one day. There is a lady, Carol, who lives in the next street to us but she is just a teaching assistant so goes in at totally different times to Simon. We need to arrange something.
It is a shame that my Dad didn't see the house as it was before we started work on it. He can't see how much we have done. I will have to show him the photos of the blue stripy walls and the yellow radiator. I was traumatised by that bright yellow!
Simon and I are babysitting the boys for a few hours tonight as Coralie and John have tickets for an ice show. Their normal baby sitter will be coming at 8pm but she has never bathed the boys and put them to bed so we will do that. Coralie is picking me up at 4.30pm and Simon will go to her house straight from school. We will all have dinner together before they go out. I'm looking forward to it. Bath time is always fun!
My coffee is drunk so it is time to get togged up to brave the elements. It's the first time I have been out of the house (apart from the garden) since Saturday. I have some photos which I will post when I get back.
