Ibiza (copy)
Just to let everyone know that we are safely back from Ibiza. We had a lovely time and it was very hot as usual. It's so disappointing to come back and find that England is cold, rainey and very windy. I suppose that the 2 weeks of hot weather that we had was summer? It certainly looks like it is over for another year anyway.
We stayed on the quiet side of Ibiza at St Eulalia. We had a very nice Thomnsons hotel called Ses Estaques. We can recommend it. We hired a car for 3 days and visited Dalt Villa, the old town of Ibiza. It's quite a climb up through the cobbled streets but worth it for the views at the top.
We also drove around the coast and stopped at various coves. We can recommend Niu Blau and Es Figueral. The caves at Peurto De San Miguel are not in our opinion worth the effort. They are small and very ordinary as caves go. The beach down below however is fantastic. To see where we were visit: http://www.ibiza-spotlight.com/beach/island_map_i.htm
For the best caves we recommend the caves of Drach in Majorca. They really are incredible. If you havent been and would like to get an idea of the scale and magnificenec then have a look at: http://mystrymoon.screaming.net/cavesofdrach.html This website has great pictures. You may want to turn off the music though!!
Apart from that we had a nice lazy time by the swimming pool, reading books and magazines and going for dips in the hot tub. Very relaxing. Shame we had to return to reality! Oh well, we are planning to visit Saskia in October so at least we have that to look forward to.
