I just had to put that doggie up there as he (or she) is just so gorgeous! I love the Hot Dogs.
I'm doing the happy dance today............. no it's not the house! It's the diet. I lost one and a half pounds this week which means I have beaten another target. Happy dance, happy dance! I have now lost a total of 1 and a half stone or 21lbs to you Merikans. It has taken 3 months but they say that slow and steady is the best way to go so I am happy.
I'm not sure how I will fare this month with Christmas and the move to get through but I'm not going to worry too much. I can concentrate on it in earnest come the new year.
This is turning out to be a quite a nice day. It is our 32nd wedding anniversary today and I had a lovely card from Simon this morning and a bottle of my favourite perfume, Flower by Kenzo. We are going to my favourite Chinese restaurant for a meal tonight. Not good for the diet!
Oh, I forgot to say......... I have got myself a small pedometer. I thought it might encourage me to do more walking. I am still not getting the exercise that I should. You know the saga of the Wii Fit Zumba! Anyway after programming in my weight and the length of my stride I have got it attached to my waist band for the first time. So far today it tells me that I have done 2858 steps! Sounds a lot but I would imagine it is less than half a mile! Considering the only walking I have done is around the house and up to the shops it obviously isn't going to be a lot.
Still my plan is to make sure that whatever it is, that I do a few hundred more each day even if it is just walking around the house and up and down the stairs! Has to be good if I do more each day???
When I woke up this morning it was a grotty, grey day again. The weather forecast says winds of 25 miles an hour and rain. I needed to go up to the shops so I went first thing to beat the rain. It is actually fairly mild out, no wind. By the time I came back it had cheered up quite a lot. Seems like they have the forecast wrong.
I went up to the shops to get some bananas for lunch. I have been trying hard to eat lunch and I usually have a rice cake and a banana. Oh and I also had to take back the leggings I got the other day for a refund............they were too big! A size 16 and they were too big! Can you believe it? They were baggy around my bum and way too loose at the waist. Trouble is that I doubt my posterior would fit into size 14. So no leggings.
I am having a lovely lazy day today. As it is my anniversary I think I am allowed to just have a “me”day. I have been messing around on my computer, playing some games and reading blogs. I m going to get a coffee shortly and start on some sewing.
Coralie and I went to Denise's last night for our sewing lesson. We practised doing darts. Then we spent time using some of the different feet that came with our machines. I love the button hole foot. Brilliant. We had never done button holes before. We did about 5 different types including a corded one which was really good. It was fascinating just setting it all up and watching the machine do it!
Guess what? My machine even sews on buttons!!! I didn't know that. It was so cool. I am going to use it today to sew the buttons onto the little brooches that I have been making. They are really hard to do by hand as there are 3 layers of fabric with interfacing on one and fabric glue as well. They are very stiff and I have been killing my fingers and wrists attempting to push the needle through. Hopefully using the machine to do it will be a breeze.
We still have no more news on our house. I haven't heard anything so far today but as I haven’t spoken to either the estate agent or the solicitor since Tuesday I think I will ring them later this afternoon. The thing is I guess we are no further on or they would have been in contact. So if I phone, I won't like the answers and then I'll get upset!
Once again in a fit of faith and positivity I am posting a countdown clock. They still say the 15th of December. That is just 2 weeks away.
OK, time for me to go and get myself a coffee and a rice cake and get down to some sewing.
