Tuesday 29th of November

I am having a bleurgh day. A grumpy, fed up to the back teeth day. The weather here is horrid. OK, not as bad as some of you are getting but still horrid. It is cold and grey as grey can be . Bloody miserable. It is going to pour down soon too.
I can't settle to anything today. I am being lazy as hell. I don't have any housework to do as I got up to date yesterday. I have done the normal chores for the day. I was going to bake but can't be bothered. I have the days loaf in the bread maker but that isn't exactly baking.
I need to finish my quilt but can't summon the enthusiasm. I have a gazillion little brooches half made but ….......... who cares?
I need to look through my Christmas list and see what I need to buy and what I still said that I would make. Can't be bothered.
I really should start on my Christmas cards especially the ones going abroad ............ it's such a chore!
Can you tell that the Christmas spirit is sadly lacking here right now!
It's the bloody limbo that we are in with the house that is doing it. Had an email yesterday from our solicitor and things still aren't sorted. She also mentioned that the contract would be conditional and we have no idea what these conditions are! I need to ring the estate agent but I am putting it off. I never like what they say and just get upset.

It's nearly 2 pm now. I seem to have got myself going a bit but am still grumpy. The rain hasn't come but the wind is blowing a gale. There are a lot of leaves piled up in the garden and every time the wind whips them up the dogs go crazy.
I did phone the estate agent and I was right, I didn't like what he had to say! He spoke to our solicitor this morning and it will probably be several days before things are sorted. They think because of the dispute over the garage title that the buyers solicitor will want indemnity insurance. No doubt we will have to pay for that and it will add on more days. They insist that the garage can't be freehold, or shouldn't be freehold because it has leasehold property above it. The thing is, we own the land it stands on...............oh I don't know. They say the indemnity insurance will prevent a whole legal wrangle. Either way it is not looking good for exchanging this week. BUT they still say we will be out of here 15thDecember!
Ohhhh....just had an idea...... I need to think positive and have some faith so................... a countdown clock is needed! I might even do a change of address card on the computer this afternoon too. I have been meaning too. It is partly why I haven't started on Christmas cards yet because I want to put the change of address notifications in the cards to save postage.
After phoning the solicitor, I sat in my sewing room and got my sofa quilt finished. I am quite pleased with it. It is a Christmas present for someone so once I have shown it to Simon this evening I shall get it wrapped. I have also completed a few more little brooches. I'll show them to you next week in a “make do and mend” blog.
This afternoon I am going to sit and sew the broderie anglais trim on to the little quilts that I have made for Ellis doll bunk beds. I may even put on day time TV! Anything to stop my mind from whirring!
Pork chops for dinner tonight. I like pork chops. OK, time to switch on the TV and see if I can find anything interesting to watch whilst I sew.
