It is so long since I have done one of these blogs! Of course I haven't been doing as much because of the chaos over the house. Some of my stuff is even packed. I can't wait for the move when I can get myself organised in a room just for me.
So what have I been doing? Well I made a floor cushion, small cushion and bunting for Flynn's birthday. The floor cushion proved to be a challenge! Remember I mentioned about the difficulty of getting it filled with all the little polystyrene beads? In the end Simon helped. He cut the bottom off a plastic milk bottle to use as a funnel. He held the card board tube inside the bag and poured the beads in. It was a long job as the tube kept backing up.
Excuse his lack of trousers in the photos but this was just before bedtime. He did comment when I started taking photos that he had no trousers on but I said don't worry I won't let them see your legs! LOL.
The following day, I sewed up the gap and prepared to insert it in the cushion case. Guess what? The feckin thing was so fully stuffed that it wouldn't go inside the case. I had to unpick it and remove over half the beads. Last time I shall be using them if I ever make another floor cushion!
I am pleased with the end result though.
I am still making a quilted sofa throw which is to be a Christmas present for someone. You can see part of the quilting here. I need to bind it now.
I am also making a paitr of simple jersey trousers for myself. They have been a pain as the sewing machine keeps chewing the fabric up. I think (hope) that I have that sorted now.
I have made 7 cards over the last couple of weeks. I am not as professional at this as Chris is but I think they turn out ok and they do save money which is part of the point of doing it. My brother in law Pete got quite a laugh out of his card!
Projects still under way as and when I get time are: Little quilts for Ellies dolls bunk beds, a couple of sock monkeys, some wooden thingys and also some fabric flower thingys! I'll show you when I get them done.
I am looking forward to the new year when we will hopefully be in our new house and I can turn my hand to making curtains. That will be something new. I am told that they aren't difficult.
