Nothing much to report here today. The weather was slightly improved, as in a bit warmer and no rain. We did a few small jobs this morning and went to the allotment this afternoon. Simon’s jobs this morning were to assemble his new lap top table and to screw a hook to the inside of a cupboard door to hold the new tray he got yesterday. I am saying “he got” because I didn’t think we needed a tray.
Simon said it would be good for bringing up my breakfast......................he has managed that every day for 31 years without a tray! Ok, Ok, I know he is wonderful so let’s let him have his tray. I just wish screwing the hook to the door hadn’t been such a saga! It still isn’t done. I have to wonder how a man who can build a car from scratch has so much trouble with a few simple screws.
I did some hoovering and general pottering. The house is a mess. It always gets this way when Simon is on holiday. I am out of my normal routine and things just slip.
We had a good productive time at the allotment. Simon put some roofing felt on the edge of the roof of the lean to structure as we didn’t have enough of the plastic roof stuff. It should now be totally water tight. He also finished making the 4th raised bed, and did some digging. I just did masses of weeding. The ground was very wet (it rained all day yesterday) but it seemed ideal for pulling up weeds by hand. They were coming straight out with their roots intact.
I also pulled up some carrots and some lovely big parsnips. Oh and some radishes. I have a back ache now and my hip is uncomfortable. I have had a nice relaxing bath and it helped marginally. Simon made one of his pizzas for dinner which was good. We had pineapple and anchovies on it as well as the normal bits. I love anchovies.
I took a few photos at the allotment. I’ll put them in an album later. I also have some photos from January. They were taken on Simons mobile and he has only just taken them off! They show him and Sam building that lean to.
We called at Coralies on the way to the allotment. She was looking after Ellie today so Lisa could get a rest. We stayed for a quick cup of coffee and long enough to generally excite and wind up the children! We are looking after Ellie tomorrow. Simon is going to collect her first thing and then he will take her back after dinner.
Ok that’s my exciting life for today!
