Monday July 31st 2006. This was the date of my first ever Blog entry! As a lot of you will know it was my friend Ali who got me started with the Blogging. Ali has a very professional Blog and when she first told me about it I was intrigued. I had never heard of a Blog!
I had a look round the internet and discovered there were lots of sites offering a Blogging service. I read various peoples Blogs to get an idea of how it all worked. Finally I decide that I wanted to give it a go. I chose Blogger.com as the service I would use. I actually made entries on Blogger until October. There were 26 entries in total. The last one was entitled photos of Adams brothers wedding.
Unfortunately, Blogger was often a nightmare to use and would take for ever to upload photos. I was fed up with it and nearly gave up on Blogging all together. I had a look round the internet again to see what else was available. I had heard of “My Space” so I gave that a go. I found it really messy and not straight forward to use. Then I found Yahoo. I set it up…easy peasey.
I have stuck with Yahoo ever since because for all its faults it seems to me to be the easiest to use and the one that you can do the most with. I started with Yahoo on Saturday 7th October, when I transferred all of those first 26 entries on Blogger to Yahoo and they are my first entries on here.
I have come a long way since then. I have done 700 entries!! Now for a few statistics:
October 2006 – 72 entries
November 2006 – 97 entries
December 2006 - 103 entries
January 2007 – 94 entries
February 2007 – 108 entries
March 2007 – 98 entries
April 2007 – 75 entries
May 2007 – 42 entries
June 2007 – 8 entries so far!
Strangely, that only adds up to 697 but Yahoo definitely says 700! Another Yahoo blip? Or maybe I can’t add up, I can’t be bothered to check. Anyway, that’s a lot of entries.
I currently have 50 friends according to Yahoo. I have had more, but some have mysteriously vanished such as Willy and others I have deleted. I think 50 are just about manageable.
My page views now total 182,147 so people are still visiting me.
On Monday 11th of November I received a message from Yahoo. I have copied it below:

I was delighted to be chosen as it made me feel that people were interested in what I have to say. I am still currently featured in Yahoo’s interesting pages, six months later, which seems to me an achievement.The only downside to being featured has been the constant messages and comments from the “weirdo’s”. You all know what I mean!
The upside has been the new friends that I have made and their lovely comments and their support for me when I am feeling down, usually over my Mums illness. I thank you all for that.
I would also like to say thank you to Yahoo who have also been a great support and put me in touch with the group for featured Bloggers. The Yahoo team have also sent me a message of support regarding my Mum. I think they do a brilliant job and as of today everything on my Blog is working well. My photos are there, my feeds are working and up to date and my page counter works.
On the odd occasion when something has not worked I have contacted them via Beta feedback and they have always sorted me out within a couple of days. To those of you in my groups who seem to have constant problems and moan about Yahoo; I would suggest that a polite request goes a long way.
Well that’s it, my blogging history to date. I just wonder how many entries there will be for June?
