Now when I do blogs I do them on my large desk top computer. This is for several reasons. 1. I write my blogs in "Word" and copy and past them to Multiply. I don't have "Word" on my lap top. 2. I find it much easier as the desk top has a huge wide screen monitor and my lap top has a mini ten inches. 3. All of my photos are stored on my desk top, I have none on my lap top.
My desk top has been playing around for a few weeks. I would get the blue, crash dump screen and have to switch it off and on again. Last week it was happening a fair bit and as I was worried I began copying stuff to DVD's in case I should lose it. Strangely over the weekend it seemed to be better and didn't do it once. It was fine yesterday but I left it switched on while I did other things (as I always do) and when I came back there it was again the dreaded blue screen of death.
I have not been able to do anything with it since. It starts to come on and then before you can do anything, bang, that dump screen is back again. Oddly the screen has gone all funny too. Lots of lines and strange brightly coloured dots. Maybe it is alien communication!
I Googled it this afternoon and the consensus of opinion is BSOD = buy a new computer! I did get some instructions to go into safe mode and get up the command prompt from where I have been able to set it to run a disk check, It has been going for some hours now and is at 48%!!
I am hoping that this may sort it out or at least tell me what is wrong. If any of you have any ideas they would be gratefully received as I am going to be a bit stuffed until I get it sorted. I have done all the obvious things and I haven't recently installed any new hardware or software that could be causing problems.
so........normal blogging with photos will hopefully resume shortly!
