wonder if anyone else has seen this? I first read about it in a magazine last week. It is an "advert" that has been made by Dove, the makers of various toiletries such as deodrants, shampoos, soaps, body creams etc... It shows a relatively ordinary girl being turned into a super model.
They start off with a full make over and hair style but as that still isn't apparently good enough they then carry out all sorts of digital manipulations. The result is stunning. The point it is trying to make however is that anybody can look stunning with half a ton of make up, their own personal stylist and then a whole wammy of digital alterations.
These images are not real. I could look like that and so could you. Women tend to see these images in the media and we then put pressure on ourselves because we do not look like that. We are too fat, too thin, too spotty, too short, too tall.......etc, etc.... When will we learn to accept ourselves the way we are and stop aspiring to be like the models? Even top models don't step out of bed looking like they do in their magazine pictures. This advert is the proof of that.
It's all just one big lie that has sucked us in. We beleive what we see and we think that if only we buy that "miracle" cream then we too can look like that. The only way you and I are going to look like that is with lots and lots of digital manipulation! Watch the advert and see for yourself how it's done.
