We have a lot of weeds growing in the wrong place at the allotment and fight a constant battle with them. They always win! Here in my garden I have more or less none as everything is in pots and the grass is artificial. This is because of the dogs. The garden is very small and the dogs would just trample anything growing in the ground. The artificial grass came about after we had replaced it for the third year running. Girlie dog wee wee burns the grass and with 2 of them in such a small place it was a terrible brown mess.
I know Sue said yesterday that she does not see the point of grass and I sort of know where she is coming from. I certainly wouldn't want acres of the stuff that would need hours spending on it with the mower every week. I do however like to have a little patch on which to set up my sun bed when the sun shines. Yes, I am a sun worshipper. I know, I know, I have heard all the scare stories about the sun but.......... I love it!
Hmm bit distracted there, gone off the subject of weeds! Must be because I am getting so excited about tomorrow. They are saying that it could be 70 degrees here tomorrow! Can you believe that? In April? I'm not convinced that I believe it either! We shall see. It'll probably end up raining. Mind you my little seedlings at the allotment could do with some rain.
Reminds me of that saying. "April showers bring May flowers".
Lets get back to weeds before I go off on another tangent. My favourite weed is the dandelion. How can you not love dandelions? They have such lovely bright yellow heads and look so cheerful. Then of course there is the ethereal beauty of the seed heads. Just beautiful. Evan thinks they are pretty flowers to be picked for Mummy.
I have some in my front garden amongst the grass and daffodils and I was going to take a photo of them but when I went out earlier it seems they are all closed up. Must be too cold and windy for them today. So I have had to dig out some old ones for you. They may be old but they are goodies! Except for the last one of Evan they are all from last year.
Tomorrows theme is: 6. Something fuzzy (Suggested by Vicki).
