You may have noticed that I have been missing in action again. I am sorry but there are all kinds of things going on right now that mean I haven’t got the time or enthusiasm to get on here as much as normal. That will no doubt change. I did have some time this morning but as most of you already know Multiply was having a hissy fit this morning. It would seem that it is sorted now so I am going to try and catch up on the DPT.
Wednesday’s theme was: 16. Curves. I have a few photos for this. The first 3 are taken from Google earth and they show the road as you come up to our local shopping centre. They also fit the theme of straight lines too!
The left hand photo shows the road as it curves around the side of Sainsburys. The Middle one shows the side entrance to Sainsburys and you can see the curve of the green cycle track. On the right hand photo you can not only see the curve of the road but you can see the straight lines of the Zebra crossing and the straight lines of the fence.
Then we have this photo of my dogs which was taken in December 2000. They are almost forming a circle.
The next photo was taken in February of 2001 and is of Rosie. She is standing in an old tree stump. Just look at the way that wood curves around.
Thursday’s theme was: 17. Straight lines. These photos are from July 2001 and show Saskia and Josh on some rides at Alton Towers theme park. They went with Simon on a school trip.
These next 2 photos were taken in October 2000. Saskia was practicing for a ballet exam. She was 14 years old. Who knew just a couple of years later she would be living abroad and working as a dancer for Disney. She has some straight lines going on!
Today the theme is: 18. Something square (Suggested by Vicki) I have searched all around the house and I can’t seem to find anything square. Lots of rectangles but no squares. So I have done the same as some of you and trawled through old photos. I have found 2 that were taken in Athens in Greece and one that was taken in Spain. All are from 2001
This is a side chapel at the Acropolis in Athens. See the square stones.
Anyone who has ever been to Athens knows that it is teeming with stray, homeless dogs. Me being me, I couldn't resist them and made many friends by feeding them! Every holiday I have ever gone on I have found a doggy friend somewhere. Anyway for the purpose of the theme you will note that the pavement is made of squares!
The above is a message found outside the monastry of Guadalest in Spain. It is on square, hand painted tiles. Guadelest is very high up....see below.
The theme for tomorrow is: 19. Something round (Suggested by Vicki)
