DPT the moon

The photo theme is: 23. The moon (Suggested by Mickey).  Well as you know I have never been able to get a good shot of the moon so today I have resorted to web shots.

This was apparently taken in 2009 at the north pole and you can see the sun below the moon.

A blue moon which occurs when there are 2 moons in one month....I think!

Who remembers the moon landing in 1969?  I don't.  In 1969 I was too busy playing with my dolls.  I imagine we must have done something about it in school but I don't recall.

One of Buzz Aldrins first foot prints which apparently will remain for at least 10 million years because there is no erosion on the moon.

How comes his weight left a print but the weight of the space craft did not?

There are a lot of theories aren't there?  Do you believe it happened? In 1979 when the first suggestions started to emerge that maybe NASA had conned us all, 6% of Merikans thought it was a hoax. By 1999 that figure had risen to 11%.  According to a recent count 22% now believe that Apollo 11 never landed on the moon.  That is an awful lot of Merikans.

I'm not sure.  I think it is certainly possible that it was an elaborate hoax.  I think maybe even quite likely.  But I don't know for sure.  What do you think?

How do you explain the issue of the prints, the tricks of the light, the funny shadows, the lack of shadows, the flag flying straight out despite no wind and no gravity?  Why did the space craft cause no disturbance to the surface at all?  Why were there no stars at all in that black sky?  It is all rather odd.

Perhaps must tellingly, why when the moon is still there, do we not go any more?  Why were the missions so abruptly stopped?

Maybe, just maybe we were all taken for the biggest ride of our lives.
