Entry for 02 July 2007 (copy)

Well, it's yet another rainy day again, here in Peterborough and across most of the UK. According to the weather forecast today, it is going to continue like this for at least another few days. I know we need rain, but this is beyond a joke. My sympathies to anyone who has been affected by the recent flooding.
I am not very well today, hence it is nearly 6pm and this is my first blog. I have a bladder infection and am on antibiotics, so all in all I am feeling a bit grotty. Yesterday was a fairly restful day. Simon finished the patio, cut the grass and cleared out the last of the rubbish, all in the rain.
I didn't do much as I wasn't well. Sam and Lisa popped in for a short while and we actually drank our coffee in the garden during a brief lull in the rain. I took little Ellie out side to see the flowers in the hanging baskets but she wasn't to keen on the wind! It was so chilly we had to wrap her in a blanket! She is doing really well, weighs 11lbs now! Her hair is longer and going much lighter. Although she was very dark when she was born we think she may end up blonde like her Mum. It is also starting to curl and her Mum had very curly hair when she was little.
Coralie came round for dinner in the evening which was nice as we hadn't seen her for a few days. She had been to Weston Birt in Gloucestershire for the weekend as John is up there doing the "Forestry tour". She saw Travis on Friday night and The Feeling on Saturday night. Unfortunately she missed the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on Sunday as she had to get home. She is on a night shift tonight. She also met Jeremy Clarkson back stage who enquired where she had got her wellies! She has new pink ones bought specially for the occasion and I think she needed them!
It's strange that she was there this weekend as I had a nice message from a man called Simon B who told me a bit about Acer tress and recommended that I visit the Weston Birt arboretum where they have a maple walk. Thanks for that information Simon. My daughter says it is lovely.
Well Simom was going to put up some more brackets for hanging baskets tonight, but once again it is pouring with rain. It's nearly time for Eastenders now, so time for me to go and relax.
