Well for once it has actually been a nice day in my little corner of England. It hasn't rained! In fact it has been warm and sunny all day. I don't think I'll remove the rain mac from my avatar just yet though as next week is predicted to be very unsettled with lots more rain.
We have been busy today in the garden (again). This morning, Simon put up yet more hanging baskets and also the new washing line. Then he cut the grass. While he was doing that I installed some software on his new laptop. I am the only person in the house now without a laptop! We have 2 PCs and 4 lap tops in this house!! How did we ever manage without all this technology?
This afternoon we went out to the garden centre and got some more pots and bedding plants, some turf and some concrete. When we got back, I set to and did all the planting while Simon dug up some of the worst of the lawn and laid the new turf. Unfortunately we didn't get enough, so we will have to go back and get more! It's becoming a regular trip to the garden centre!
Once the turf was laid Simon got some old painted stones that my Dad did years ago and cemented them in to fill a little gap around the butler sink which has rockery plants. They look really good and I will post a photo soon.
There's not much left to do now. We need to finish the turf and then Simon is making a sort of trellis arch which is going to go against the left hand fence, with a pot either side and we are going to put honeysuckle and clematis in the pots to grow up the trellis. It will be finished next week. The other thing left to do, is to pressure wash the decks as they are rather grubby. Then I can sit out in the sun and enjoy it all. Of course, if I had my own lap top, I could sit out there and Blog!!
This evening we had a Chinese take away as we didn't want to cook. Simon is now busy on his lap top. Josh and Charlotte have gone out, Saskia is watching TV and I am obviously sitting here blogging. I have a nice glass of chilled rose wine to keep me going! Tomorrow we are going to Stevenage. Simon is going to drop me off at my Dads as he is going to a car show at Knebworth house. I will go to the hospital with my Dad and Simon will pick us up from there. Hopefully it will be another nice day and we will be able to get Mum to sit outside in the ward garden. That's always much more pleasant than being stuck inside.
OK , I need to go and top up my wine now and then I am going to enter some competitions.
