Entry for 13 July 2008

The weekend has been quite busy as always. I did a few jobs yesterday morning before walking up to the bus stop to meet Coralie and Evan. She came over on the bus as she can't drive for another month yet. I pushed baby Evan in the pram. It's Nanny's duty when we are together. Coralie says she never gets to push the pram!
Saskia came over for the day too, so she could see Evan. At lunch time Sam turned up with Ellie as Lisa was working. We all had lunch and Nanny got to fed Ellie. After lunch Simon and Sam went to the barn to do something with cars. Us girls walked up to the shops with the 2 little ones. I pushed Ellie in the push chair for a while and Saskia pushed Evans pram. We swapped half way. Coralie didn't get to push anything!! He he!

We went in various shops as Coralie had a few things she needed. Saskia and I waited with the babies out side Peacocks and were amazed to see a young woman run out with a load of bags, all the alarms went off, she ran into the crowd and disappeared. What was amazing, was that despite the alarms not a single member of staff appeared! We wondered if it is because their stuff is so cheap, they just can't be bothered?
Coralie was ages paying and when she came out she said the service was terrible. The kids on the tills looked like they were about 12 years old and were all chatting away. The girl serving her was so busy talking that she didn't activate the card machine to take the pin. Coralie had to interrupt and remind her she was there and trying to pay! This was the shop where I applied for a part time post. It seems it is just as well that I didn't get it as it doesn't sound like somewhere I would be happy working.
As usual, I made a few little purchases for my grand children. A couple of little T shirts each and some jeans and some really cute shoes for Ellie from Next. I can't resist! I also let both Coralie and Saskia choose a top too. I think I should treat myself next time!
Once we got home Coralie fed Evan and we all had a little cuddle as well as playing with Ellie. She is just so good! We played the CD that I got her the other day of action songs. She loved it and we were in hysterics watching her dancing. She knows 2 new words, head and tummy. So, when you say where is Ellie's head, she'll put her hands on her head. She loves it when you do it too. We also played hide and seek, which she loves, read her new book and got out all the toys! She is such a cute little angel. Always so good for me.

Simon and Sam came back about 6pm and Sam stayed for a short while. Once they left the rest of us had dinner and then Simon took Coralie, Evan and Saskia home. All in all I had a lovely "Nanny" day!
Today I haven't done much. We did the kitchen this morning between us, as it was a bit messy still from yesterday. I came over a bit funny, with some very strange pains in my stomach. Simon was trying to tell me to sit down, but I know when I need to do that and I just wanted to get on. The thing is, I want to make sure that everything is up to date before I go to hospital on Thursday and if I don't do things, then no one does.
Simon went over his barn to do stuff with cars and when he left at lunch time, he said " Don't over do it"! If everyone didn't go off out and leave me to it, maybe I wouldn't have to over do it! Josh was out at a barbecue. Anyway, I didn't over do it and Josh eventually did the hoovering for me. I lay down and read my book and felt a bit better after a while, although I still feel a bit odd.
Saskia came over half way through the afternoon to collect her washing and ironing. I hadn't quite finished the ironing so she finished it herself, which saved me another job. She was on her bike and Simon has just gone with her to cycle home. He should be back soon. We had a very nice dinner which Simon cooked when he came in, so I didn't have to do that either.
I have still got plenty of things that I need to get done over the next couple of days, so I guess I will be doing my half hour system tomorrow. I think I have started a world wide trend, as lots of you were all using "Jillys half hour house work system" today! It always makes it seem easier to me and I get lots done. Right now, I am going to have a nice long soak in a bubble bath with a glass of wine. It'll either make me feel better or.........well, it won't!
