Entry for 17 June 2007 (copy)

I am having quite a frustrating day, hence the reason that I picked that word for my Sunday Photo. It's one of those days where I don't seem to be getting anywhere. We got up quite late today and even though it's fathers day my lovely, wonderful Simon still brought me my breakfast in bed. A full "English" this morning, complete with little fried potatoes.
Simon went off walking the dogs and I got up and did a quick tidy up. When Simon got back we had coffee and I rang my Dad to wish him a Happy Fathers Day. We then went over to Orton to finally exchange the curtains that I got a couple of weeks back for Verity's room. I am pleased to say that I now have the right size and I have ironed them and got them hung up. They look very nice. In fact I like them so much, I am thinking of buying some for our own bedroom as the ones in our room are quite old.
We also bought a lovely hanging basket for the garden while we were there and Simon is going to put up some more brackets so we can hang some more. Since we got back Simon has been busy cutting the last of the slabs and I have been busy trying to sort out his new lap top. Frustrated is how I feel. It always takes way longer than you think it will, to do these things!
All I needed to do was to put on the software for our broad band connection, activate the BT Yahoo virus and security stuff and then install the office suite. Getting connected to the Internet was no problem, but when I tried to download the security software it wouldn't let me because it says you must have 256MB of Ram... This machine is supposed to have 512!
When I checked it says it has 198MB of Ram, which seems some what odd. I have had to download some freebie virus software for the time being. There was also 47 windows updates to download and it got as far as 37 and switched itself off. I do mean off as well, it hadn't just gone to sleep! I am not sure why it did that as it is plugged into the mains. Anyway, by that time Sam had arrived and dinner was nearly ready so I have temporarily given up!
Dinner was very nice although there was only 5 of us in the end. Coralie and John had been to John's sisters wedding yesterday and were just too tired by the time they got back from Derby. Sam came with Ellie but without Lisa, as Lisa was also exhausted. Charlotte had been to visit her own Dad and so had already eaten. That just left me, Simon, Sam, Saskia and Josh. It was a very nice meal though.
Sam has gone home now as little Ellie was not a happy girl this evening. She was asleep when they arrived but woke soon after and then just cried most of the time. We didn't see any smiles tonight! Simon is now doing some marking and I am going to go out to a friends house for a glass of wine. Hopefully, I may get a little more done tomorrow as I am not in school until the afternoon. Only one and a half weeks left to go. Thank goodness.
