Entry for 18 November 2006 (copy)

 Thank goodness it's the weekend again at long last. I went to my parents in Steveange yesterday. The drive was horrendous. It should be about an hour and ten minutes on the A1. Yesterday it took me about an hour and a half to get there and two hours and twenty minutes to get back. The rain was torrential all the way there and all the way home. I saw 3 accidents and twice had to pull over for the ambulances. WHEN WILL PEOPLE LEARN TO SLOW DOWN?

I don't understand other drivers. You may not care if you kill yourself but do you care if some lunatic kills one of your family? Your, wife, son, daughter, mother ect...? It would be a different story then.

 This is a particular "rant" of mine, bad driving. I have to regularly drive up and down the A1 and I cannot remember the last time that I did so without seeing at least one "near miss". I frequently see accidents. The park ways around Peterborough are just as bad. People seem to take on completely different personas as soon as they get behind the wheel.

I am going to leave this "rant" for another time as it will take too long for me to say all that I want now!

 The actual day at my parents house was not a great one either. My Mum has Alzeheimers and she has deteriorated a lot this year. Mainly due to my Dad being in hospital. (He had a knee replacement) My mum often doesn't know who people are but for the first time she didn't recognise my Dad this week. It is so sad and very upsetting. To top it all, this week the government bill in conection with the Alzeheimers drugs has been passsed preventing all early stage patients from receiving the drugs.

 I would like to know who exactly did the research. They obviously don't have any personal experience of this awful disease. As usual it is a money issue. We can't apparently afford to give it to them. It's £5 per tablet = £35 per week and we can't afford it? F**K O**.

Sorry for the bad language but these people don't know what they are talking about. I will do a further blog next week on Alzeheimers and the efeects it has not only on the "patient" but on all the members of the family involved. This is an issue that could affect any one of us in the years to come.
