Entry for 22 June 2008

Sunday has nearly gone! Only one more night and Coralie will be in the hospital and "Bob" will soon be here. Unfortunately, she hasn't (so far) gone into labour on her own, so the induction will take place tomorrow. John is taking her in at 8am. I will be going in a bit later. Please can you all keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
We have been busy today. Simon finished off the last of the fence painting which had been left. I pressure washed the large deck to remove all the wood stain that I applied a few weeks back. We made the mistake of thinking that we could use the same wood stain that we had used for the fence! It doesn't work! When it gets wet it all starts coming off!
This is presumably why they sell "decking" stain!! The only thing is, that however much rain we got it didn't wash it all off! No such luck. It just made it horrid and dirty looking. It took hours to go over and over it with the pressure washer. Simon then scrubbed it all on his hands and knees and then I went over it again. We had a lake going on underneath! We are going to buy the decking stain in the week and then as soon as we get a dry, sunny, day and I have some time, I will repaint it!
We still have the little deck to remove the stuff from too. Then I will do that. One at at time! Simon has now gone to his barn to do some stuff on his truck. He has exam marking to do tonight.
I have had a nice relaxing bath as I was covered in muck from the decking and also soaking wet. It is very, very windy here today and that made the spray go everywhere! Actually the wind is even higher now. It is going to blow half my plants to smithereens! We are supposed to have high winds tonight and all day tomorrow with big electric storms too.
Since my bath, I have been messing around on here. I have checked in with a lot of you and everyone seems to be having a good weekend. I have also just placed quite a large order with Argos. A new roller blind, plus matching vertical blind for the kitchen. Our roller blind broke a few weeks back and I hate that you can see in at night. I have also ordered a baby safety gate and a car seat.
We desperately need the safety gate as Ellie is just so fast now. When we are in the living room which is on the first floor, I have to be behind her all the time as the stairs are just outside. She can go up the stairs, but not down yet. The car seat was something we had been planning to buy for ages too. It is such a pain to have to move Ellie's car seat in and out of their car to ours if we have her. It will be so much easier all round to have one in our own car. The one that I have chosen is from birth to age 4 years, so it will be suitable for "Bob" too and will save Coralie having to move cars seats all the time.
The order was completed with a new garden broom as the handle has just broken on the old one! All in all this was a very quick way to spend a lot of money!!! It does have the advantage though of buying a lot of things all in one place that will be delivered to the door. Saves going round lots of different shops.
Right, it's time to go and get a chicken in the oven ready for when Simon gets back. This evening I am going to see my friend Eddy, for a bit of a catch up. Then tomorrow.............We are all just so excited now! Verity is going to come home from Southampton on Wednesday to see her new niece or nephew. It will be so nice to have her here. Next week is going to be a busy one, but I will post the news as soon as we have it!!!!
