After our shopping, Coralie treated me to lunch at the Fox and Hounds pub, in Longthorpe, Peterborough. This is a really nice pub which I thouroughly recomend if you should find your self in this neck of the woods any time. It has all it's menus written on black boards and they change regularly. I have my eye on, roast loin of cod with bubble and squeak and a bernaise sauce. Just thought I'd mention that in case someone fancies taking me?
Anyway, after shopping it was time to do some of the dreaded house work and then I was busy all evening with phone calls.
Tuesday, I spent most of the day in bed with a migraine, although I did get up in time to cook dinner. Can't let the family starve. Then the evening was spent mostly on the phone again. My mum has Alzeheimers and there have been quite a few problems recently, hence the phone calls backwards and forwards with my dad and sister.
Today, I have been in school most of the day, invigilating science modules again. They weren't too bad although the paper work afterwards had to be done very carefully as they have changed the system. The children can now do the modules either at foundation level or higher. This means twice as much paper work and a lot of cross checking to make sure each child has done the correct level and also answered the questions on the answer paper and not on the actual exam paper. Oh, yes, it happens!
This afternoon, I have run round doing as much house work as I could whilst also making various phone calls. I have manged to secure an appointment in Stevenage for Monday morning, for my sister and I to meet up with the mental health nurse who is assigned to my mums case. Hopefully she will be able to give us some advice as my mum has really deteriorated over the last few weeks.
Phone calls over, I had to go back to school to collect Simon as I had the car today and we both went in together this morning. I left at half past five and got to school at six! This is a journey of about 4 miles maximum!! They are doing work on the park way and it is down to one lane. I hate driving in traffic. In fact, I hate driving full stop.
I have now got dinner in the oven and Simon is out wlking the dogs so I have a spare few minutes to do some blogging. I have a glass of red wine and I am beginning to relax. Perhaps, I should have several glasses of wine and then I might really be relaxed! Coralie tells me that it is perfectly ok to have a bottle of red wine if needed and she should know shes a midwife!!!
This evening (provided I am not too relaxed) I am going to make a couple more phone calls and then do a bit more blogging and then I'm going to go to a friends house for a few more glasses of wine! Hopefully I will be able to sleep tonight!
Tomorrow, hopefully I shall be able to catch up with everyone as I should have a bit more time. The morning is taken up with visiting a friend who I do some cleaning for, but after that I should be fairly free. Heres hoping!!
