Entry for 23 June 2007 (copy)

Well it's been a bit of a funny day today. I haven't felt that great but can't quite put my finger on what's wrong. I have no energy or motivation for anything. Maybe I am just extra tired as I had a particularly bad night last night.
I got up late this morning, Simon had already been out ages with the dogs . Once he got back we had coffee and I got washed and dressed and sorted out my hair. I had my highlights re-done on Thursday and James my hair dresser always dries it straight ....... much trendier according to my girls. The only thing is that I don't like it that way, it looks too flat. So this morning, I washed it and got back my normal "fluffy" style, or frizzy as the kids call it.
I did a bit of ironing while Simon was working in the garden, but it was hard work due to my lack of energy. I felt quite peculiar for a while. After lunch I checked the addition on the exam papers that Simon has been marking. Then we decided to go to the garden center for some hanging baskets and some more bedding plants.
Typically, just as we left it began to pour down with rain, so the trip to the garden center was a short one as we were getting soaked. We did get a couple of hanging baskets but no other plants. We also got a half beer barrel which we are going to plant an Acer tree in. Does anyone know if we need to line the barrel first?
Also does anyone have a fool proof way of getting rid of slugs? We planted lots of bedding plants last weekend and every last one has been eaten! Yes, I really do mean every one. It is so disappointing. Hopefully we will be able to go to the garden center again tomorrow morning and get some more as the garden is very nearly finished now. Simon just has a few more slabs to cut and then we need to sort out the lawn on the opposite side. It is starting to look good. I am hoping for some good weather so that I can sit out there once the exams finish next week.
When we got back from the garden center I helped Simon out checking more of his exam papers for him. Tonight we had a Chinese take away which was lovely but actually hasn't made me feel any better. All being well, if I get to bed fairly soon and manage to get some sleep tonight, I may feel a bit better with more energy tomorrow.
I am going up to Stevenage in the afternoon to see my Dad and visit my Mum. That always takes it's toll and I feel quite drained when I get back so I could do with feeling good before I go! The situation with my Mum is still exactly the same and we are waiting for her case to go before the NHS board some time in July.
That's it for now, time for a milky drink and bed I think. Night, night.
