Entry for 26 February 2008

The door to nowhere!  Is the grass really greener on the other side?
I am having quite a good day. I have done lots of washing and ironing and am now down to just some dog bedding and the overalls that Simon wears in his barn. I have also manged to catch up with everyone on 360 and finish my library book. It is another Tess Gerritsen book called "under the knife". It wasn't as good as some of the others but still a good read. I have got quite hooked on her, but I have now read everything she has written, so until she publishes something new I may try some other crime / thriller writers.
I was supposed to be having Ellie again this afternoon, but Lisa doesn't have to go to her appointment now, so I find myself with some free time. Hopefully.... I do still have some hoovering to do! I had a lovely time with her yesterday, she is so sweet. Coralie was here with me and Josh came home from work while she was here too. She loves her Uncle Josh and he is very good at amusing her!
Since I now have a bit of time this afternoon, I am going to get myself an early lunch, finish the hoovering and then I am going to catch up with the Multipliers. I find it harder to keep in touch over there as the friends pages seem more detached from my page, if that makes sense?
I am also going to enter some more competitions on the Internet. I posted a whole bunch of postal entries yesterday. I am convinced that it is time I started winning again. I haven't won anything recently. Must be time for a biggy! A holiday would be good"
Mind you, if I won a foreign holiday it would mean that I would have to go on a plane! I am still undecided about that. I was beginning to think that I would be fine and that I could do it again but then that plane crash landed at Heathrow and it really put me off! Perhaps, winning something is what I need to get over it! I wouldn't want to waste a holiday!
We are supposed to be having a week away at Easter as this will be the last time that Coralie will be available to dog sit for a while. We haven't decided anything yet though as I can't make up my mind where to go. We want sun, but that means a plane ride; probably a longish one as we would need to go further afield at this time of year.
There are a few places in the UK that we would like to visit but as Easter is so early this year the weather is likely to be rubbish. Simon fancies Scotland, but I really feel that needs to be a summer trip as the weather could be really bad now. We will see.
I am also hoping to get a bit of sewing done as well, this afternoon. I haven't done much recently as I don't seem to have time. Where does all the time go to? Simon and I were talking last night about time and how quickly it passes and what the next 6 months will bring.
We have Coralie and Johns wedding in May and also Ellie's first birthday. Then we will have the arrival of "BOB". By the summer Verity will have finsihed 4 years at University and hopefully got her first teaching post. Josh will be getting ready to go away to Uni. Simon hopefully, will be looking forward to a new teaching job too. I wonder where and what I will be doing? Sometimes I think I need a change.
I really need to get hold of a copy of the book that Wendy is following. It is called the "No Diet , Diet Book" and is about changing attitudes, habits and perspectives as much as dieting. Maybe that is what I need to change my perspective??
