I have been slacking again! No blogs since last Thursday! I am finding myself busier and busier. On Friday, I went into school for invigilating. I had a great day as I only had a couple of "A" level students, so I was able to read virtually the whole of my latest Tess Gerritsen book! I still haven't decided if I will continue permanently. I will go in for the last exam this coming Thursday though. It will be another easy one with only a couple of students.
On Saturday we had a lazy morning and then did the food shopping in the afternoon. On Sunday we had Sam here for a while with baby Ellie. Coralie was also here for a while. It is so nice to play with Ellie and watch her developing. She is very cute.
Sunday afternoon Simon and I drove out to Oakham. This is a small market town about 25 miles from here. We wanted to have a look at the school as Simon may apply for a job there. It is an independent school and owns virtually all of the town. The buildings are spread out with the school houses in between. It's a boarding school. Anyway, it was interesting.
Yesterday I went up to see my Dad and then in the afternoon we visited my Mum in the hospital. She wasn't quite as good as she has been recently, which was disappointing. My Dad has been having a bit of a clear out. I think he is finally accepting that Mum will never come home. He insisted that I bring home all my Mums teddies and then got really upset when we packed them up!
He says he finds it difficult to get all of these things dusted, so he wants them gone for practical reasons. My Mum loved her teddies and had some really nice ones including Steiff Bears. I will give them a good home.
On to today..... I have spent the morning catching up on washing and ironing. The ironing in particular had got a bit behind over the weekend. I have also done the bathroom and stripped the beds....... more washing and ironing!! I am going to go down in a minute and sort out the next load as the load in the machine should be just about finished.
I have some hoovering to get done this afternoon and some paperwork. If I get up to date then I may try and get some more of my embroidery done. I am slower now as my eyes are not as good. There is no way that I can see to sew without my glasses, which really annoys me. Simon has finally succumbed too! He went to the opticians yesterday evening to get his eyes tested and his are even worse than mine. His glasses should be here next week.
Tomorrow I am going to the hairdressers in the morning to have my highlights redone. Thursday afternoon I am in school and on Friday Coralie has a day off and we are going to go and look at travel systems. We have already seen one that we both like in John Lewis but we are going to look around a few other places first before deciding. Simon and I are going to buy this for them as we did for Sam and Lisa.
Right, best go and sort out the next washing load, don't want Simon thinking I've done nothing all day!
