Well it's nearly 10pm and this is just about the first chance today that I have had to get down to some serious blogging. I have actually been at my computer for a while but I have been busy replying to all my friends and viewing their blogs. Very time consuming!!
I went to Stevenage again today to see my Mum and Dad. It wasn't as bad as some times, the traffic was ok today too. My mum was quite argumentative but I have almost resigned myself to that. They had a very bad day yesterday when my mum really didn't recognise my dad and my sister had to go round to them as mum was very upset and confused. My dad said today that he is heart broken and I just feel so terribly sad for them both.
My dad had asked me to buy her a couple of cardigans as she admired one that I had on last week. As she won't often go out it can be quite difficult to get stuff for her. Even when she does go out she will say she doent like anything. Anyway, I bought 4 identical cardigans in 4 different colours. One pink, one red, one blue and one cream, they were all lovely. She said that she hated them all and that they were old things that she wouldn't wear. We couldn't even get her to try one on. So, I shall have to take them back for a refund tomorrow.
I should have known. A while back when we had managed to take her into town to get some new trousers because all her others were too big we had a similar scenario. She couldn't find any she liked and then I found a lovely pair in marks and spencers and she agreed that she liked them. We purchased them before she could change her mind. When we got home and she tried them on they looked lovely..... she said they weren't her and she wouldn't wear them, so again they went staright back to the shop. You can't win.
Alzeheimers destroys lives, not only of the sufferer, but of the families and loved ones.
