Entry for Monday 6th October

Well  despite the weather forecast saying we were going to have persistent rain and flooding in East Anglia, today so far,  it is a very bright sunny day.  It's chilly but very bright, a typical autumn day in fact.  I was pleased it looked so bright as I felt a bit fed up with myself.
The abscess that I had last week has gone, I think! It still feels a bit strange.  Yesterday the roof of my mouth was really sore.  The skin feels as if it's been burnt, very smooth, you know what I mean? This morning when I woke it was still the same.  I don't know what it is, there is nothing to see, but it is sore and making me very fed up!  Simon said to phone the dentist but I'll hang on and see if it goes away on its own.  Anyway, I had a little lie in with my doggies all around me and then when I got up the sun was shining, so that helped!
I have a lot of housework to catch up on today as nothing much has been done since Thursday!  I had Coralie and Evan here Friday morning and in the afternoon we went into town where we met Lisa and Ellie.  That was very nice and we had lunch together.  I even managed to get my first Christmas present purchased!  I got the rosebud cottage and caravan with little family from the Early Learning Centre for Ellie.
I always start my shopping about now to spread the cost and also the number of shopping trips.  Hopefully this year I can get quite a bit online.  Wendy asked the other day when I was going to put a Christmas countdown in my right hand rail.  Well I am having so much trouble with my page, I'm not sure that I dare do that, just now.  So......... I'll have to put it here!!

While I am at it, here is one for my birthday....only 4 more days!
On Friday evening Verity came home.  She was here for the weekend and It was nice to see her.   I am hoping to go and stay with her in the next couple of weeks before half term.  On Saturday the girls all went into town and Simon and I went over to Sam's house.  I played with Ellie while Simon and Sam smashed out a concrete step that was in between the living room and the kitchen.  Lisa was at work.  Ellie was a little angel and plays so nicely now.  She loves her dolly and teddies and likes to feed them!
Saturday evening was nice and restful.  We watched the third episode of Strictly come dancing, which I have really got into this year.  I am making sure to watch it it on Saturday and the results show on Sunday.  It makes a change for me to watch something different as I only usually watch Eastenders.   I have to say that I was really pleased when Gary Rhodes was knocked out this week.  I didn't like him at all, he was very smug and arrogant not to mention a dreadful dancer!
On Sunday we had Coralie and Evan here for most of the day and Sam and Ellie for a little while in the afternoon as Lisa was working.  Verity cooked us a lovely dinner of leg of lamb cooked in cider. It was delicious, she is a very good cook.  She went home about half five and Simon went to the barn after dropping her at the station.  I had a quiet restful evening.
Today, I am doing my half hour system, so that I can get the jobs done and have some Me time.  I have done the kitchen and got some bread in the bread maker.  The last lot I did was a real disaster!  I am so determined to get this right.  I follow the recipe to the letter and yet sometimes it comes out ok and sometimes it doesn't.  I have no idea why!  If anyone has a good fool proof recipe for  a bread maker (2lb loaf size) then I would like to try it!
I have got lots of time today as Simon goes straight from school to his welding class at the college and doesn't get in until after nine.  Saskia will be back in Peterborough from Uni about 2pm but is going straight out with a friend and probably won't be back until ten,so I don't need to cook dinner for anyone.  I'll probably just do myself a sandwich or something.
Right, my half hour has gone and I'm going to clean the bathroom now.  I'll be back later.  I may change my page some time today as I still can't get it right.  Everything was there this morning but will probably disappear later!
