I have been browsing around and found some people talking about chocolate. I like chocolate, I'm not a supper dooper connoisseur but I do like it if you know what I mean. I don't have it very often, maybe once every couple of weeks. My sister is a much bigger chocoholic, she eats it every day! It's not at all fair that she is about half my size, how does that work??
Anyway, reading these blogs made me remember something.... who has heard of the Hotel Chocolate shops? They are to die for. If you thought Thorntons was a good high street chocolate shop (and it is) then you will think Hotel Chocolate is absolute heaven on earth.
Our nearest one is in Cambridge and I have been there twice, the last time with my friend Ali when she was over from New Zealand. A few weeks back, when we went to Milton Keynes, we found they had one there too. It is very expensive but out of this world!
I fancy trying the pink champagne truffles or the milk selection box, or how about the Chilli and orange giant slab for £12? This is the website description: Zesty milk chocolate with essential oil of orange, flirting with the warm spiciness of dark chocolate with a hint of chilli. Finished with tangy pieces of confit d'orange.
How about Exuberantly fruity: Bite through each crisp chocolate shell and discover an explosion of boisterous fruitiness! Our secret lies in using real fruit and nothing but real fruit so that the natural tanginess really shines through. Tantalise your taste buds with blueberry & blackcurrant bombes, zingy ganaches with peach, raspberry, cognac & orange, cherry pannacotta, succulent mandarins and raspberries soaked in alcohol on a bed of soft vanilla ganache, strawberries & black pepper and more. Only £18!
You can have a look at the Hotel Chocolate website here: www.hotelchocolat.co.uk They do mail order!!! Just realised that my last few blogs have lots of birthday present ideas in them!!! Will have to tell the family to have a look here!! Flowers, chocolates, magazines, holidays, what more could I need??
Actually one of the blogs that I read mentions that there is actually a chocolate hotel in Italy. That is not the same as the Hotel Chocolate shop....it is an actual chocolate hotel! I thought at first it meant it was a hotel built out of chocolate.....don't laugh at me! You have all heard of the Ice hotel in Sweden, yes??? That's built out of ice, so why not one built from chocolate??
Sadly, it isn't actually built of chocolate, so you can't bite chunks out of your bedroom walls when you get the urge! It is however full of everything chocolate. I will try to find out more about it and let you all know. For now, I think I definitely need a cup of coffee and a slice of my chocolate, caramel shortbread. I also need to get off of here too!!!
