Making a difference (copy)

I have heard this story countless times, but it still makes me smile with it's simple truth.

As the story goes,

A storm washed thousands of starfish onto the beach leaving them to die if they didn’t somehow get back into the water.

An old woman, worried about their fate, begins throwing the starfish back into the ocean one at a time.

A young girl approaches the old woman and says, “There are too many. You can’t make a difference.”

The old woman holds a starfish in the air, looks at the young girl, throws the starfish into the ocean and says, “It made a difference to that one.”
