All Aboard the Meme Express – Tuesday, September 16, 2008.
On September 16, 1620, the Mayflower set sail from Plymouth, England, for the New World. The 180-ton ship arrived in Provincetown, Massachusetts, 65 days later.
Nearly 350 years later, on September 16, 1966, The Beatles topped the popular music charts with their hit single, “ Yellow Submarine.”
The Meme Express today offers a choice of keywords: aboard, journey, Mayflower, New World, pilgrim, ship, submarine and travel
Here’s the Meme Express challenge for the day: Pick at least three (3) of the keywords, or use as many as you can! Feel free to use the artwork too . . . or not. Post your poem, story, song, photo or other entry on your blog and then link back to Meme Express.
Ok, I thought I could give this a go. My chosen 3 words were, submarine, journey and New world. I have used three different photos, all from the internet. The first was of the Mayflower, the second the Statue of Liberty and the third a yellow submarine. I combined them into one photo in Photoshop and added text.
I don't know how I did it really as I was just messing around. I did use the magic selection tool to remove the submarine and the statue from their original photos, I know that. It's not a very good picture, but I am still learning! I also still have quite a bad head, which hasn't helped my concentration!
Anyway...here is my creation.......
I enjoyed messing around and creating this. Imagine the faces of the natives if the pilgrims had arrived in a bright yellow submarine!!
