My 26th of the month blog

Saturday 26th of March.  Time to do my "day of the month blog".  Well we were up late.  We often are at weekends, It is the only time Simon can get to lay in.  He still brings me my coffee and breakfast though.  Coffee arrived about 9am.

At the weekends Simon will bring coffee first and then breakfast about half an hour later. During the week they arrive together as he will just be leaving for school when he brings it up. This is my breakfast, English muffin, scrambled eggs, bacon and baby mushrooms.

Once I had eaten my breakfast I had a nice lounge around catching up on some reading. About 10.15 Simon decided that it was time I got moving and a you can see he threatened me with my dirty cutlery!  I thought it was best to get up then!

I had a wash, got dressed and gathered together all the bits and pieces that needed to go to the allotment.  Simon wanted to get the potato bed rotavated again and I wanted to plant some more potatoes.   We spent about 5 hours there in total.  It was no where near as nice weather as the previous few days and in fact as the afternoon wore on it actually got quite cold.

Here you can see me planting potatoes. I planted 2 different kinds of second earlies.  10 Sofia and 15 Kestrel.  That is about 56 planted in total so far.  I still have some more second earlies and then the main crops.  It is hard work on the knees!  In fact it is such hard work that last night I ordered a tool called a Chillington ridging hoe which is supposed to make life easier. We'll see.  It should be here in time for next weekend.

After all that planting it was time for a coffee break!

Simon did go over the whole of the bed again with the rotavator. Look how good that earth is looking.

We drove home in our very dirty car........note to Simon get car washed!

While Simon did dinner, I had a bath.  For some reason I always seem to get way dirtier than he does.  Must mean I work harder!  I didn't photograph dinner and I don't recall what it was.  I did photograph my bath, no not with me in it!  Just while the water was running.

After dinner Simon went to his barn to do car stuff and I spent the evening doing sewing in my messy sewing room which is really Saskias bedroom.  One day, I will turn it into a proper sewing and craft room.

Bedtime was about midnight.
