I am still feeling mega grotty with this horrid cold so I am just taking it easy today. My wrist feels a lot better now and I have no longer got it strapped up. A few of you suggested that I get myself a sewing machine, but I don't think an ordinary sewing machine would have managed with that thickness.
I am not actually big on sewing. I do a lot of embroidery, all different kinds and I think I am quite good but actual sewing is a different thing altogether. My sister and my Dad are both very accomplished but it seems to be a skill that passed me by.
When I started at secondary school we alternated each term between cookery and dressmaking. In the first term you were supposed to make your apron for use in the cookery classes. I managed to go through 5 years without completing my apron! As my friend Debbie and I were in different classes I was able to borrow her apron. Up until a few years ago that half completed apron was still loitering in a cupboard at my parents house!
I think my problem is that I don't have the patience. When I got married Simon's mother got me a sewing machine but I never used it and it was given away years ago. Anyway, since you are all asking to see, here are some photos of Loulou wearing her new coat. She is quite happy for Simon to put it on her at bedtime.
I might have a go at making one for Rosie too although I don't think she gets particularly cold as she sleeps in the living room. Alfie of course sleeps in the kitchen with Loulou but in the box which is right next to the radiator. He seems to be back to normal today. I'll let you know his results as soon as we hear.
Right, going off to take another Lem Sip Max and then I'm going to sit and do some embroidery. The house is quiet, Josh and Saskia are both on their lap tops, Verity went home today and has just phoned to say she is safely back in Southampton and Simon is over the barn with his new toy.....he got himself a welder today. I think its a MIG Welder or something like that. He seems pleased anyway!
