Time to sit down and have my coffee. I am trying to stick to a “half hour” day today. I have tidied the kitchen and bathroom, got some washing on and I have bread making in my machine which has decided that it will work today! So.....
Time for the last daily photo theme of January 2001. 31. Something brown.
This is quite a hard one. I did look around the house but it is not really a colour that I like. It’s a dull colour and Pooh colour....literally! Haha. Of course chocolate is brown and I like that and my beautiful boy is brown and that is highly prized as liver (as the brown is known in the canine world) and white is much rarer than the normal black and white.
So what can I show you? Well I have found a few. The first of course is the beautiful boy!
The first one was taken when he was still a baby in 2001. The second one was taken this morning! He kept coming right up to the camera so I couldn't get a decent shot.
Next is a photo from this time last year at the allotment. It is the onions growing and yes they are green but the earth is brown!
These next two show willow rattles. When Simon did the willow planting course a few weeks back the man there did a bit of weaving with them. The first one is the one made by the tutor and the second one is Simon’s attempt. They are not quite the same! Pretty good for a first attempt though. Simon brought home enough willow twigs for Coralie and me to have a go but we haven’t got around to it yet.
Before anyone asks, apparently they really did used to make these for teething babies to chew on. Willow has the active ingredient that aspirin is made from and they believed that it released something that was like a local anaesthetic for the babies’ gums. So we were told anyway. I may of course have it all wrong. Sue might know?
While I have been going through my photo albums looking for brown I have found a couple of photos that I just have to show you.
This one is a photo of the Corps of Drums and it would have done nicely when we did the red theme. Both Coralie and Verity were in the Corps of drums. Can you see them?
This one shows Rosie and Alfie with their heads out of the car window. I could have used this one for the wind theme! It was taken in 2001
This one is of our little Sandy who passed away nearly 4 years ago. I guess she is a sort of brown.
Ok that is going to have to do as I only have 7 minutes to get it posted before going and cleaning the kitchen floor!
Tomorrow’s theme for the start of the new month is: 1. Your favourite animal (not a pet) (Suggested by Mickey)
