Not much to report today. Simon went to collect Ellie first thing this morning and when they got back here they picked me up and we joined Coralie, Evan and Flynn at the library for story time. That went down quite well with Ellie but not so good with the other 2! Flynn is teething so was not quite his normal self and Evan seemed more interested in running around than listening to the story! Unusual for him because he loves books and loves being read to.
We went to Sainsbury’s coffee shop after that and had coffee and cakes. Orange juice and cakes for the little ones. We got a little craft kit to make peg dolls for Ellie and also a play dough kit. I used to always make play dough when mine were little so I must look up the recipe.
We left Coralie in Sainsbury’s and came home for lunch and play time! Ellie was very good. We played with the play dough which she really liked. It still smells exactly the same as it did when I was a kid and it first came out. I had the play dough fun factory and really liked it. The smell is unmistakeable.
After that we made the peg dolls. She loved that! She was very good at the gluing part! A little over enthusiastic with the quantity maybe! She was good at winding the wool round too. We watched a bit of children’s TV and read some books.
About 4pm she went back up to the shops with her granddad to but a local newspaper. My friend Debbie (an old school friend) who doesn’t live here phoned me yesterday to ask if I could get her the next 3 days local paper as her daughter has been up here doing work experience and they were going to publish one of her articles. I meant to get the paper this morning but forgot!
When they got back Ellie and I played with the dolls and teddies while Simon did dinner. We had sausages which Ellie usually likes but the little monkey ate hardly any. After dinner we played “shops” and then it was time to go home. She has been allowed to take the big sock monkey home with her for a visit! It was a bribe on my part to get her to go happily as she didn’t want to go!
Simon is now over at his barn and I have had a relaxing evening recovering from the days exertions! A 3 year old is tiring! Bless her; she “zapped” me with her finger to give me some energy! If only it worked! There is no news yet on her new baby brother or sister. Mummy was at home today resting.
Tomorrow I am going to the hair dressers to get myself looking a bit more presentable. It seems that I now need to go more often. It used to be that my colour would last about 12 weeks but now it is looking ropey after only 8 weeks. It is about 10 weeks since I had it done so you can imagine it is not good! There is lots of grey and lots of dark roots. By tomorrow evening they will be gone. I may be back then with a photo!
Talking of photos, I have a few that we took today and also a video taken on my new bloggie cam-corder of Ellie and her granddad. I’ll post it later and hopefully you will be able to see it without problems this time.
PS. Alfie has been trying to scratch his stitches and it has been a bit of a nightmare trying to stop him. We may have to resort to a “cone” if he keeps it up. That is why I found the cartoon at the top of the page funny.
