Wednesday 30th March.

Wednesday already.  Where on earth does the time go to?  I never have enough time.  Plus March is nearly gone too.  I wish it would just slow down.  Anyone know how to slow down time? It should be possible since it is a man made concept.

Monday was a busy day catching up on jobs in the morning, looking after the boys for a few hours in the afternoon and then resting up a bit with a headache.  Yesterday no housework really got done apart from some washing as I was baking for Simon and cutting out the pattern pieces and the fabric for my dress.  It took forever but more of that on Monday!  Plus I'll show you my finished skirt on Monday too.  I know I said you could see it but I can't get a decent photo.  I'll have to get Simon to take one of me in it,

Today I have been attempting to catch up on housework and not getting too far.  My kitchen was a mess as I had moved everything yesterday to give me a big enough surface to work on with my fabric.  By the time I got that straight and washed the floor it was already half way through the morning.  Since then I have cycled up to the shops as I wanted carrots for a stew tonight. (lamb) and done a whole pile of ironing.  Oh and I have cut out the flags to make the Thomas the tank engine bunting for Evan.

I still have masses to do.  I need to hoover top to bottom.  and...oh masses of stuff.  Why can't we just do housework once and that's it?  Why is it there waiting to be done every day?  Why do we have to eat something every day that needs to be cooked?  I would have so much more time without housework but then I guess that is my job.

Oh, I just remembered I have some news about Simon.  At the end of the school year in July he will be standing down as head of department.  He will still remain as head of key stage 4. Hopefully this will lessen his work load and his stress level.  It really is bad right now.  Apart from 2 nights a week were he goes to his barn to work on his cars he does school work every night until at least 10pm.  He is in school at about 7.45am and doesn't get home until 6pm except Friday where he makes a point of being in at 3.30pm.

Until the summer exams are over he is also staying in school until 9pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays to teach extra exam classes and catch up sessions for children who are behind on course work!  It's really quite unbelievable.  To think some people think teaching is an easy option.

I do think they make it easy for them nowadays though, the kids that is.   In my day you got on and done what you had to do and if you didn't well then you failed and you would be told in no uncertain terms by the teachers that it was your own stupid fault.  Ooops best not to get me started on this!  Maybe I'll do a nice ranting blog!

Anyway, with luck things will be better for Simon and therefore me when the Autumn term begins in September.  Just wish we could have a really good holiday but it isn't possible without a dog sitter and I can't leave Rosie right now.  My sister and her husband have just gone yesterday to La Gomera and they had said I could go with them but I couldn't leave Rosie.  Another time maybe.  I miss those holidays with my sister.

Ok, I have some photos for you now.  When I looked after the boys on Monday we walked up to see the sheep and there were 2 horses in the first field.  The boys loved them. They have no fear.  The big white one leant over the fence and licked right across little Flynn's face before I could stop him!  Flynn thought that was really funny.

Evan found a pretty flower which he picked to take home for Mummy.  He was very pleased with it!

While I was busy taking photos of the sheep a certain little 2 year old was being a typical little boy and clambering up the fence!

Ok, I have drunk my coffee so I guess it is time to shift my bum again and get moving.  More house work to get done and then I might start on that bunting.

Just looked out the window and the promised rain has arrived.  It is still warmish, I have the window open and right now it is just a drizzle.
