Wednesday!

I just love all the cat and dog captioned photos from "Lol cats" and "Hot dogs".  I don't know how they think up the captions.

Well  it's half way through another  week and I still haven't really got myself caught up with all my jobs.  Simon mended the switch / door lock on the tumble drier for me on Monday evening and it is all working properly now.  I have finally finished all the washing and ironing that I do for my friend and it should be collected tonight.  I do it once a month so there is always absolutely loads of it.

I have also done some baking today. I have a soya and linseed loaf in my bread maker which should be done in about an hour.  I have also made a cherry and almond cake which is in the oven.  I used to make this cake quite a lot when the children were younger and we did baking every few days.  I haven't made it for years though so I hope it turns out OK.

When the children were all small and we had 6 packed lunches a day to prepare, we used to have baking sessions every few days.  The children would all join in and as they got older they would just do it all themselves, often arguing over whose turn it was to bake whatever!  I miss those days.

Just recently, I have been buying some of the cookery magazines for inspiration.  As I have a bit more time on my hands (in theory) I thought it would be quite nice to try out some new recipes.  I am going to try and do at least one new dish or cake or something each week.  Preferably using ingredients which I haven't used before. The Good Food magazine and Fresh Magazine have really given me inspiration.

I'm just having my coffee now and catching up on here.  This afternoon, I need to get the hoovering all done and then I may sit and do some embroidery.  Simon will be in a bit earlier tonight as we are going to the cinema.  we are going to see a comedy called "You don't mess with the Zohan".  The trailer looks quite funny.

Other news..... Josh is now back from Southampton. Verity has her first official day in school today, I hope it goes well and Sam is off to France tomorrow for work.  He is accompanying a boat out to Marseilles and then on to Cannes where he will be putting in some finishing touches before hand over  I wonder who the very rich owner is?
