I'm pleased to say that my big boy is home and doing ok.  He is very,very sleepy but that is to be expected. They removed the complete lump and it has been sent away for testing.  Hopefully the results won't take too long to come through.

The Vet phoned just now to check that he is ok and he will see him again on Tuesday.  He has told us that he may develop a cough because of the tubes used in his throat.  He has a neat row of stitches down his chest and they are all nice and clean with no bleeding.  They are disolvable ones which is good as we don't have to go through the trauma of him having them removed.
