Who knows what "THE" event of August 2003  was??  Come on now Coralie and Saskia, you were there......think.    It was Robbie live at Knebworth Park!

I am a huge fan of Robbie Williams.  I was never into Take That but the Rob on his own is a different story.   I love everything he has done.  He is the original naughty boy with a twinkle in his eye. *1 Now when I heard about his European tour back in November 2002, I definitly wanted to go.  When we realised one of the venues was to be Knebworth Park *2  well Simon said I had to go.  He bought tickets for me, Coralie, Saskia and my sister and her daughter.  We also had a ticket for Verity but she was away when the concert took place.
So August 2003, Knebwoth Park and 375,000 people.............................Watch the video of "Angels" *3 and see if you can see me.

Did you see me?  No?  Do you want to know why you didn't see me?  If I don't tell you then I know Coralie will!

Well, despite the fact that I had watched the concert the night before on the TV and marvelled at the crowds and despite the fact that I had been to concerts years ago at Knebworth Park.........   I didn't realise what 375, 000 people would look like at close quarters!

I am a person who likes her own space.  I do not like people that I don't know too near to me.  Not good for a very crowded concert!  To cut a long story short we entered the arena quite late on and so were near the back but still crowded in.  It was a very hot day, people were very, very, very close to me.  I panicked.  I ran out just as the first strains of "Let me entertain you" came over the tannoy!  I watched the concert on the screens outside the arena over by the big oak tree.  That is why you didn't see me!

I still enjoyed it even though the others were cross with me.  Obviously I am too old to do concerts any more, I can't cope!  How sad.   What I need is for Robbie to do a concert just for me, I could cope with that.  If any of you know him perhaps you could ask him for me! *4

2  I lived just a couple of miles from Knebworth all my life until I got married.  It is where Simon and I first got together.  He offered me a lift home!
