I had a late start this morning. I had my breakfast in bed as usual and decided to read one chapter of my book before getting up. What happened? I fell asleep! I was very rudely awakened at 9.45am by a VERY LOUD banging at the front door. My first thought was the postman so I jumped out of bed and started flinging on clothes. More banging! The loudest I have ever heard. I was starting to get in a panic. I rushed down the stairs and.........NO ONE was there! I looked up the street.... NO ONE even in sight.
So I am really irritated as I have no idea who it was and I can’t even tell them off for battering at my door like that. I doubt it was the postman as he only knocks if he has something that won’t fit through the letter box. If you don’t answer he leaves you a note on a card and you have to then collect whatever it is from the main sorting office. Besides my normal postman has since been so it wasn’t him. I am not aware of any parcels that we are waiting for. It’s a mystery.
So I have done a few jobs and it is now time for the Daily photo theme! Today is: 12. A road sign.
My photo was taken with my Bloggie video camera through the wind screen of the car. It shows the road sign at the entrance to our local shops at Bretton Centre. You can see that the “TT’s” seem to be missing. At the top of the sign it says the Cresset which is a community space that has a theatre, a library, a cafe, a pub, meeting halls etc.
Sainsbury’s is the big supermarket and the rest of the list shows the other main shops that are here such as Boots. You can probably figure out most of them except Age Concern which is a charity shop and Corals which is a turf accountant or betting office as they are more commonly known. There are a few other little shops but the list is basically it. These are the shops that you have seen me walking through on the way to Coralie’s house.
The photo was actually taken back in October. If I get out on my bike later today then I will see if I can take some other photos of different road signs. I’m not sure yet if I will go out. I am all disorientated and I have a lot to do and the weather is grey and horrid. There are 3 excuses that should be enough!
Tomorrow’s theme is: 13 Something that hangs. (Suggested by Nancy)
PS Lots of new photos in my January album.
