Daily photo theme 9 and 10

Oh dear, oh dear........I missed yesterday!  It was a busy day for me and I had planned to do my blog in the afternoon. As it went I ended up going into town on the bus with Evan to do some last minute Christmas shopping.  I am pretty much done now although I still have to get Saskia's birthday present.

Simon met me in town after school and we went to change the bead that he got me for our anniversary.  I'm not sure if I mentioned that?  He got me a new bead for my Pandora bracelet. It was white with black spots! Sadly it wasn't a Pandora bead it was a Troll bead and it didn't fit on my bracelet!

It's the second time he has done this!  For my birthday he got me a lovely little dog charm that was a different make and that didn't fit either.  However when he took that back to the shop to change it they sold him a little clip for another £25 to make it fit!  I told him then to make sure in future to ask, do they fit Pandora.  When I reminded him of this he said "but I though that was just the charms, I thought the beads would all fit!"  Men!

Anyway we got a refund and went to another shop which sells the range Love Links which do fit.  I chose a very pretty white iridescent bead. By the time we left  town it was 6.30pm and we had to take Evan home.  We didn't eat dinner until late and by the time I had watched Eastenders I was too tired to be bothered with anything.  I did sit and read all you entries for your Christmas wish lists though.

Most of you have put me to shame as you all want things such as world peace or your family around you etc..... I want those things too but I also have a list of material things that I want!  I won't be disappointed if I don't get them and the most important thing is enjoying the day with my family and my 4 beautiful grandchildren.

Each year Simon asks me for a list of things and then he will choose something to buy knowing that he will be getting something that I will like.  I usually give him quite a few things so he has plenty of choice.  I usually include some small value items so that if the children ask him for ideas he can help them too.

So what is on this years Christmas list?  My main want is a Kindle.  Someone else put that on their  list yesterday.  It's an E book reader.  I love books and am always reading.  I will always have books in the house and never thought I would want one of these gadgets when they first came out but after reading several reviews and doing some research I have changed my mind.

It will make reading in bed and reading on the go much easier.  It will be brilliant for holidays and a lot of books are cheaper to purchase in electronic format. When we are eventually able to move I will need to downsize my book collection too.  The Kindle stores thousands of books so that will not be a problem.  Anyway this is first on my Christmas wish list.

Then there is perfume.  Flower by Kenzo which is my absolute favourite, my signature if you like!

I would also quite like this new watch by Accurist as it can be customised with beads and charms.

A snuggle blanket for when I get really cold late in the evening and I want to sit up and do stuff on my computer or read.  My main computer is on the middle level landing and it gets cold there even with all the heating on in the house.

Oh that reminds me......when we got in yesterday evening the first thing I noticed was how cold the kitchen was.  The radiator wasn't full on so I turned it up.  Then it occurred to me that it was odd as the radiator was stone cold and it certainly wasn't when I went out.

On checking the house we found all the radiators cold!  Simon looked at the boiler and the pressure had dropped right down which apparently triggers a safety cut out.  Now why would the pressure drop that's what I want to know?

It's easy to sort and he tried to show me in case it happens again.  There is a little tap you turn a quarter turn to the right......... I think he said to the right!  It's hard to see as the boiler is in the airing cupboard on our top landing and the lighting in the hall isn't great.  Anyway Simon did it and straight away lights were flashing and we could hear that it had switched on.  The radiators  were getting hot..... but the pressure gauge thingy was going up and up!

There is a sticker on the casing that says the normal range is between 1.5 barr and 2,5 barr  (I have no idea what the heck a barr is!).  The little sticker says if it goes over 2.5 or drops below 0.5 then you should call an engineer!  Ours went to the maximum which is 4 barr.

I was really in a stew.  I hate anything like that.  I have pictures in my head of it blowing up or something.  Simon says it can't blow up.  Tell that to those people who had a gas explosion recently.......remember it was on the news?  Anyway it eventually did drop down and all seems to be ok now except Simon has no idea why it would have done that either.  I don't like things I don't know!  I mean surely there must be something wrong if it did that?

Ok back to the Christmas wish list!  Lush bath bombs.  I can't get enough of these I LOVE them!

Some beads or a new charm for my bracelet.

There were also various other ideas of small cheap things that would be good to suggest to other people.  Remember I will not get all of these things they are just ideas so Simon can choose.

Today's Daily photo theme is:  10 Today's breakfast.

Guess what?  I had gone and eaten it before I remembered!   I have the same thing every week day.  Scrambled eggs on toast which as you all know Simon brings up to me along with a cup of coffee before he leaves for school.  Yes, yes, I know he is perfect and I am lucky!  I have heard it a million times before.

Anyway I shall have to give you a web stock photo as my eggs are long gone.

At the weekend we usually have eggs and bacon with mushrooms or sausages.

Ok that's me done.  Tomorrows daily theme is: 11. Your oven.  Warts and all no cleaning up allowed! I don't want you all putting me to shame again!

Good heavens I have been doing this in bed and only just realised that it is half past nine.  My dogs will be thinking I have run away!
