DPT 14

Well I guess it is time for the DPT.  I have been having a yuk day today.  I’m not unwell but I am grotty if that makes sense I am really tired and have no energy or motivation.  I have done nothing at all the entire day.  Oh I did tidy the kitchen first thing but since then a big fat zero.
Simon is home now; he is always early on Fridays.  We are just having a coffee before taking Alfie and Loulou to the vets for their annual booster injections. I need to summon lots of energy for that!
Anyway....today it is: 14.  Your favourite toy from childhood.
When I was really young one of my favourite toys was a dog on wheels.  It was a terrier type of dog.  I loved him. Sadly I have not been able to locate a photo of him even though I know that a couple certainly did exist.  I will have another look because I really want a photo of that dog.
When I was a bit older, I’m guessing maybe around 6 or 7 my Dad made me a set of dolly’s bunk beds. They were painted pink.  My Mum made 2 little matching bedding sets.  I loved them.  My girls loved them too and used to play with them when they visited their grandparents.  They are still in our loft.  We must get them out. I am hoping that Simon will make a set for Ellie and I can do the bed linen.  It will make a good birthday or Christmas present.
As I got older my absolute favourite toy was paper dolls. I assume they qualify as a toy?  I had masses of them. Some were cut from the back of comics, but must were bought as books and you cut out the cardboard doll and then all her clothes.
Every single one of them had a name and I wove endless stories around them in my imagination.  My favourite place was to line them all up against the wall behind my Dad’s armchair in the living room.  I would sit there for hours.  I was talking to my Dad about this the other day and he said he remembers it well.
My Mum used to purchase used dress making pattern books for pennies and I would cut out all of the glamorous women in there too.  Plus home making catalogues were a good source of more things to cut out to give my paper families things to use. I loved them.
Tomorrow’s theme is: 15.  Your spouse or life partner. (Suggested by Pam) Now that’s a nice easy one!
