DPT and other stuff

It’s that time of day again!  Daily photo theme! 13 Something that hangs. (Suggested by Nancy).

This is a good theme as it gives lots of scope.  I am going to show you a couple of photos.  One that I took today and a few from last summer. Today’s one is a photo of a decorative metal hanging with 2 crystal balls.  It hangs from the ceiling on my stairs, just as you turn the corner.  My sister got it for us.

The first photo I took of it looked fine on the camera but oh dear....when I put it on the computer and could see it in detail it was all dusty! Now I know you all know that me and dusting just don’t get along but I couldn’t show you it like that so I had to get the wretched thing down and give it a wash in some nice hot soapy water.

Much better!  It looks all shiny now.  I got it hung back up and took another photo.  Perfect. I don’t believe it....when I get it on the computer and can see it full size there are cob webs and dust visible on the pictures! Well I’m not taking it again so there. 

The second photos show some of my hanging baskets from last year.  I thought it would be nice to have a reminder of summer.

It’s quite mild here today, about 50 degrees which is very unseasonable. It is however very grey and wet.  All together a pretty miserable day.  I decided not to go out on my bike today but to just have a stay at home day.  I have been busy anyway as Rosie has had several “incidents” today and it has taken a lot of clearing up,  Coralie has my carpet shampooer so I am going to get Simon to collect it tonight so that I can go over my carpets.

Other than that it has been normal housework stuff.  I have managed a fair amount of “me” time. I have done the stitch practice that Denise had suggested as a way of getting to know my sewing machine.  I was quite impressed as it does some fancy stitching.  Not sure when you would use them all but still.  I am learning.

I have done some more family history research and I am so excited because I have just ordered a copy of my GGG Grandfathers will!  I never even knew he had left a will.  I got that information via Ancestry.com.  I tried to order it from HM court services but their web site doesn’t seem to be working right; a lot of the pages just wouldn’t load. They charge £5 but it seems you can’t do it online and they are taking over a month to process at the moment.  I can’t wait that long!  I ordered it from a private service at a cost of £15!  SHHHHH ....don’t tell Simon!

I have also started covering a box with pretty paper and material.  I am trying to make it into a storage box for my Pandora bracelet and all my charms. I want to divide it up into tiny compartments but it isn’t working at the moment.

I have made some orange and maple sticky chicken breasts for dinner.  I just have to do some rice to serve them with. Simon is going to his barn tonight so I think I will do some more family history stuff. Going to dust some pictures now!
