DPT 26. Something someone made just for you.

It is ten minutes past three in the afternoon of Saturday the 26^th of February and Multiply has just come back after being missing in action for most of the day so far! What is going on with it? It’s a real nuisance that it decides to be unavailable just when I have some time to myself. Simon is out today and I really wanted to do some catching up here.

Anyway, let’s begin with the DPT which is: 26. Something someone made just for you.

I have done a quick whizz around the house to see what I could find. First up, this is one of my Dads paintings done especially for me. It hangs in my bedroom. He framed it himself too.

Next there is this wooden box which Sam made for me when he was an apprentice. I think it was a birthday present. It is lined inside with a sort of green baize. It sits on the windowsill in my bedroom and I use it to store foreign money mainly. You know the left over cash you have when you come back from holiday? (Vacation to you Merikans). The purse contains Euros, ready and waiting for next time we go to a country where they use Euros.

Then there is this wooden box which Simon made for me. It is on the shelves that sit half way up my stairs. I don’t actually keep anything in it but Ellie likes to put things in there, so on the odd occasion when something small is missing I will check this box. Today when I took the lid off there was a small Disney Dalmatian snow globe inside!

Then I went into the living room to check out my shelves and I found 2 elephants and a little cottage all made of clay by various children. The first Elephant whose trunk I have just knocked off has C.GS. scratched underneath so that tells me Coralie made it.

The next Elephant is smaller and unglazed. I don’t know who made him.

Then there is the cottage which is really very sweet and on the back it has a Bretton Woods School “well done” sticker! I think this may be Coralie’s work too but I’m not , there is nothing to indicate who did it. I’m sure one of my children will enlighten me in due course!
