I have had 2 really busy days. Yesterday I had Ellie all day, which was lovely but very tiring. Verity was still here until the afternoon so she helped. We walked up to the shops in the morning and Ellie went to sleep. We met my friend Ed in Sainsburys and he came back with us for a cup of coffee.
It turned out that he was a useful visitor, as I had purchased a little paddling pool for Ellie and neither Verity or I could blow it up! Luckily, Ed had a bit more puff and soon had it done. I did notice that he sat in the garden with Verity drinking his coffee while I filled the pool with water! This meant lots and lots of trips from the kitchen sink with buckets of water. I couldn't use the outside tap as the water from there is freezing. It actually turned out that Ellie wasn't too keen on it anyway.
Coralie and John came round too, for a short while with baby Evan. We managed to get this one photo of him and Ellie. Ellie doesn't seem to be very aware of him so far. I expect when he gets big enough to take her toys she'll start to notice him!

Ellie, Nanny and Evan!
We had a lovely day and Ellie was just so good. A real delight to have. She just smiles and smiles. It was a very hot day and she was able to play in the garden for a lot of the time. She is getting quite good at kicking her ball now, so we did that for a long while. She also likes to hide and laughs when she thinks you can't find her. I really enjoy looking after her.
Verity left to go back to Southampton about 4pm. She will now be on the Greek island of Kos with Adam. Josh came in from school about 4pm and Ellie really adores him, so I was able to go and get myself tided up ready for my Doctors visit. I left Ellie with Josh and by the time I got back from the Doctors, Sam had picked her up.
My Doctors visit wasn't very satisfactory. He couldn't really explain to me why the blood test results were so different and why my other tests were normal. He did say that he thought the first lot of blood tests that showed the low filtration rate and therefore the kidney disease may have been skewed by my high blood pressure.
I see where he is coming from as I am fully aware now, of the links between the 2. BUT...... when I had the first lot of blood tests done, I didn't know I was ill and wasn't particularly stressed so I doubt my blood pressure was much raised. When I had the second lot done, it was the day after he had given me the news and I was very stressed and anxious and would imagine that my blood pressure would have been much higher...and yet those results were normal! Still doesn't make sense to me.
It seems at the moment that everything seems to be normal, except that I still have traces of blood in my urine. Now the consultant I saw actually said that for some people that can be normal. They do tests and never find anything wrong.
My own Doctor said that because of that, in his opinion, I still should have the cystoscopy done. I have decided that I will for the simple reason that if I choose not to, then I am going against his advice and I feel that if anything did crop up in the future that he would be very difficult with me. That is the only reason that I am having it done, I am still not convinced, at all, that I actually need it. As usual, by the time I actually left the Doctors, I was feeling quite unwell! See, there is nothing wrong with me until I go to see the Doctor!
Today, I had been hoping to spend my time getting my house a bit tidy and catching up on chores that didn't get done on Monday. Unfortunately, Coralie phoned this morning in a bit of a state. I think her hormones were getting to her and Evan wouldn't stop crying. I ended up spending the day with her. We did get little Evan to have quite a good sleep, so I think she felt better when I left.
By the time I got in I was too tired to do anything much. Sam had come over to see Coralie with Ellie so he gave me a lift home. They stayed with us just for a short while as Simon got back in with Saskia about the same time as us.
Simon had taken Saskia to Bedford University for an audition today. With all the excitement of us all arriving at once, Alfie managed to hit his tail on something and cut it. It took a few minutes for us to realise, by which time there was blood everywhere. That was the last straw for me, I am just so tired.
Simon wiped up a bit but its another job to add to my list. Everything needs a good wipe down. Because they have such very long tails which never stop wagging, if one gets injured and bleeds the blood just flicks everywhere. Simon managed to get a bandage round his tail and so far he has kept it on. I hope it heals OK as Loulou's injured tail is still causing concern.
After all that excitement, Simon cooked dinner and I have been trying to take it easy and rest a little bit. I have had quite a lot of phone calls to deal with this evening though so it hasn't been as restful as I would have liked.
Tomorrow I have an appointment with my hair dresser at 10.30 am. That will take until lunch time so I will only have the afternoon for house work. I am getting really behind this week. I hate it when that happens. Right, I guess it is time to get off this computer and read some of my book. Oh, just remembered........the broken front door turned out to be a simple job. A screw had worked its way loose and was jammed. Simon was able to get a tool in and knock it down. Then he just needed to replace it and check all the others. It was so lucky that it happened when it did and not when I was out with Ellie or something.
