Entry for 06 July 2008

A very quick entry as it is already getting late and I feel ready for bed! I know I won't sleep though! Yesterday was spent doing house work nearly all day. It took ages as I did a bit of spring cleaning too and lots of dusting. I also washed down the walls were the blood had splashed from Alfie's tail. Yes, Alfie has cut his tail now just as Loulou's is healing!
Simon took her to the Vet yesterday and he is happy that it is healing. Rosie also went to the Vet for her annual injections. In the afternoon when I was worn out with jobs, I sat at my computer and did some family history research. I haven't done any for a while so it took a while to find my place and get back into it. I did manage to find 5 death certificates which had previously eluded me and I was able to order them online. Death certificates don't help much in the process of tracing your family further back but I like them for the social history they contain. It is interesting to know how people died and to put it into it's social context.
Today has been busy but really enjoyable. My sister and her husband Pete came up with my Dad to see the great grand babies. Unfortunately, we had got up late and so were a bit behind when they arrived. We had a coffee then went to Coralie's house so they could see baby Evan. I got some nice photos and it was lovely to see my Dad holding his first great Grandson. Shame of course, that my Mum will never understand that she even has a great Grandson.
From there we drove over to Sam and Lisa's house so they could all see Little Ellie. She was a bit tired but still very good. She didn't talk though. Guess lots of people that she doesn't know well made her nervous. I got some photos there too. I'll try to post them tomorrow.
Simon spent the afternoon marking so didn't come with us. I think the dead line is Thursday so we may get back to some kind of normal life after that! The 5 of us all went out for a meal at the local pub, The Green Man. It was my Dads treat to us all to say thank you for doing his decorating. I think he enjoyed himself and had a good day. He doesn't do this nearly often enough because he hates not visiting my Mum.
It was lovely to have them here especially my sister who I don't get to see that often as we are both busy with our families. Even when we talk on the phone it is invariably about Mum and Dad.
Well that's it for now as I feel really tired and my sight is getting blurry. I will post new photos tomorrow. Night, night, don't let the bed bugs bite!
