Entry for 09 August 2008

Am I tired or what? I was awake all night. I was bit upset after talking to Simon. I took some headache tablets and then once I had calmed down, I read my book until about 2am.
I was up and down a lot looking out of the window as I could hear a lot of noise and some shouting. Our house backs onto a large park. Right behind our house it rises in a hill. On the other side of the hill is the path which leads through the park, then there are some woods, behind which lie the tennis courts and beyond that more of the park.
On Friday and Saturday nights people walk along that back path on their way home after a night out. Some times they are noisy (drunk) Sometimes we can hear an argument taking place or even a fight. This always bothers me and I have to look out of the window. Unless the people are on the back path or the hill, you can’t actually see much at this time of year because of the trees.
Finally at about half past two, I decided to try laying down to see if it would help my head. I should’ve known that as soon as I tried to relax, my mind would simple gather pace. I lay there going through in my head what I wanted to say to Simon to make him understand what I feel and why.
I suddenly realised that it was a bit stupid as I would probably forget half of it by the morning; so it seemed like a good idea to get up, switch the computer back on and start typing. It took several hours and I didn’t finish until half past four. The words just kept coming.
By that time my head was really banging away, but I was wide awake so I decided to read my book. I read until I finished it which was just gone eight this morning. It was a bit of an odd book actually, “A place called here” by Cecelia Ahern.
I got up, got washed, made myself some scrambled eggs on toast and then went in the garden with my doggies. They are missing their Dad so much. Particularly Alfie who keeps getting up and down to look out of the window.
The food has seemed to help my head which is often the case and I suspect is due to low blood sugar. I haven’t eaten properly the last few days. I have noticed before that a headache will sometimes go if I eat something. It has to be proper food though, not something like chocolate which just makes it worse. It doesn’t work with my migraines, it will just make me sick.
Simon phoned for a few minutes at half past nine. It is already pouring with rain there. The forecast is for it to continue all day and into the night. It hasn’t begun here yet. Simon said they are just going to sit around and chat. Rather him than me! I don’t know why they don’t go out. There are lots of things to do nearby, such as the sea life centre in Weymouth. I know there area quite well as we used to live in Sidmouth, East Devon which is just around the coast from where they are.
Since then I have done a little bit of ironing that was left from yesterday and my washing basket is empty. That will change when Simon gets back tomorrow. Then on Tuesday, Josh returns from a 2 week holiday so he will have lots of stuff to fill up the basket.
I’m now taking it easy with a cup of coffee. I have taken my migraine tablets just to try and ensure that my headache is on its way out. I am going to do a bit of online banking and enter some competitions and then I may read my book. If my headache finally goes then my family history research is definitely beckoning. I have to tell you that it is now absolutely pouring with rain here too. Where HAS summer gone?
