Goodness me, it’s nearly 9pm and I haven’t been here all day. Saskia came home last night as she had an interview today for her teaching post in September. Within twenty minutes of her arrival she had managed to get coffee all over the work top by not fitting the pot on properly! Chaos has been in the house for a day!
I have been busy because I had to cycle to Coralie’s to look after the boys so that Coralie could drive Saskia to the interview. The plan was that I would cycle home once Coralie was back and she would then pick me up again when Saskia was finished........ Didn’t happen.
I gave Saskia my front door key because I knew I could borrow one from Coralie for myself....at least I thought I could........didn’t happen! John had got it on his key ring and he was at work! So I had to stay and have lunch. Then we saw John coming home so I got my coat on ready to go....didn’t happen, where are his keys? At work! So off came the coat and I resigned myself to staying until we got Saskia and my key back! I really wanted to get home because I don’t like leaving Rosie too long.
Anyway, once Saskia was back we made a trip to Hobby Craft. I needed buttons for sock monkey eyes, and some paper to cut up to decoupage my box. On Coralie’s recommendation I also got some Mod Podge which is similar to our white pva. It is used as glue and varnish. More of that in my make do and mend blog next week! I finally got home at 3.30pm. So after doing a few jobs and getting dinner the day had gone.
Simon took Saskia to the station and he has gone on to his barn. We will see her again in a few weeks time for Joshua’s birthday.
So time to get on with the first photo theme of February: 1. Your favourite animal (not a pet) (Suggested by Mickey)
I’m sure Mickey deliberately said not a pet because he knew mine would be a dog! I adore dogs. Always have, always will. They are my absolute favourite animal. However since I am not allowed to do a dog I am going to go with the elephant.
There are 2 kinds of elephant, African and Indian. Way back when I firsted stared blogging I did a big blog on elephants. You can see it here. The African ones are the larger ones.
The ones above are African elephants and the ones below are Indian.
I couldn’t leave out my all time favourite elephant.............................DUMBO!!!

Another favourite one for you.... this is a Brooks and Bentley china ornament. I have had him for years. He lives on the book shelves in my living room.
Ok, I’m out of here, things to do! Don’t forget tomorrow’s theme is: 2. The last item of clothing you bought. (Suggested by Mickey)
