Well here we are on the final day of January 2011. Another month has passed never to come by again. We are already one twelfth of the way through this year. At least that means only another 6 weeks or so and spring might be on its way.
I had a rather relaxing weekend. I didn’t go with Simon to the willow building course as it was for 5 hours and I didn’t think I would be up to spending 5 hours outside in the freezing cold. He went and really enjoyed it. He knows what we need to do now to build one at the allotment. We are hoping to do that during the February school half term holiday. There are more photos in my January album.
While Simon was off doing that I sat and did some embroidery whilst watching the film “The Borrowers”. I had saved it on the HD box thingy. It is a children’s film really but I remember reading the book when I was a child so I wanted to watch it. I have to say it was brilliant! Just my kind of film. All good fun and nothing nasty or violent.
Sunday was pretty much the same. Simon went to the allotment in the morning and did a bit more digging. He got home just as Sam and Lisa turned up with Ellie, Jess and Evan. They had Evan to give Coralie a break. She has been poorly with a bug of some kind. They only stayed a short while. Once they went Simon went to his barn so I was able to get in more sewing time.
So how was the month of January? It had its good points and it had some low points. I had another nasty cold but other than that things for me were ok. I didn’t ride my bike anywhere near the amount that I had planned to so I need to get on top of that in February. I have made time to do a lot more craft stuff and I am really pleased that we have Denise helping us even though we only managed 2 sessions due to ill health.
Rosie is still with us and I am not sure if that is good or bad. I can’t really believe it. I will be so sad when she goes......My Mum continues on the same as always....the 4 year mark passed in January. My dad is ok.
The year has not started well for my son Sam with the loss of his job. He is doing everything that he possible can to secure work so I really hope that February will be a good month for him and that something will turn up. Another one of my children also has a health worry right now which is also worrying me. Everyone else has come through this first month of the year unscathed.
I am just grateful for another month surrounded by family and friends. Which reminds me, I keep meaning to do a gratitude blog. Must get round to that soon. It really does make you feel better to count your blessings.
