I meant to do this yesterday but ran out of blogging time. Yesterday, 21st of June was the longest day of the year. The Summer Solstice. The nights will be drawing in now as my Mum used to say! I want to know where summer actually is, as it is pouring with rain here again today.
Many people around the world celebrate the Summer Solstice. Here in the UK the favourite places, which usually generate quite large crowds are Stonehenge and Avebury. Apparently the sun rose yesterday at 4.58am but was mainly obscured by clouds. However, there was a much larger crowd than usual at Stonehenge to welcome it. Viva Summer.
